That reminds me of Paul Canoville...
It was way back when, but when he joined he was class, real class.
He shone out as someone who played at a higher level.
Left racist Chelsea and was kinda famous when he joined us.
All was well until Swindlehurst mullered him away against Sunderland.
That was disappointing.

Tilehurst End Andy Hughes
Set himself very low standards which he repeatedly failed to live up to.

Mr Optimist Neale Cooper.
Was really excited when he joined (c.92?) at the start of the McGhee revolution.
Unfortunately I imagined the Neale Cooper of the Ferguson Aberdeen team of the 80s pulling the strings in our midfield. Instead we got some imposter with a ridiculous perm wearing an incredibly small pair of shorts who couldn't pass water and seemed to have trouble keeping the ball on the pitch.

Remember his debut against Hull?
Useless.

leon Caskey - sorry he was a disgrace. Yes could take a free kick and a penalty, could barely walk and got fatter by the day. He was on the radio the other day saying how his move to Reading was a mistake and ruined his career....you lazy twat, you ruined your career.

Jerry St Clair Mark Reilly is the worst player I've ever seen, but I don't think he could be classed as a big disappointment. I think that honour has to be shared by two local boys who promised big but failed to deliver:
James Lambert and Neville Roach.
I'm sure I saw Neville Roach single-handedly demolish someone (Southend or Swansea, I think?) which led me to rather rashly predict that he'd definitely play for England one day.

IF he hasn't of had that season then I would have agreed BUT he was immense at that time and ran the entire team. If he'd played at Cardiff against Walsall we'd have won.
*no stuck recordo
I'm also convinced had he scored on his debut and not hit the bar against Watford we might have seen a more consistently good Caskey.
