ZacNaloen So it couldn't have been a good cross and the defender got a foot in?
It was an OK ball, but one that always looked like getting cut out (god forbid
cocked up might've been an exageration on my part).
A great cross would've been more difficult to defend and take then defender out of the game and presented Long with a tap in. He either needed to play it with a lot more pace to beat the defender or to chip it to the far post where Long would've been unmarked as I don't think the defender could've covered that.
It was a hell of a run but that he didn't find a Reading player with the final ball was just so typical Kebe. Conversley, McAnuff had a mazy run in the second half (not the same extent as Kebe's) but found his man in the box who then cocked it up. Which was the better ball? McAnuffs. Which created a goal? Kebe's.
Brendy, I totally agree it's not just his end product (or sometimes lack of it) that is the big deal with Kebe. His pace and general threat to do something puts the frightners on the opposition defence and is our main method of attack. The same thing used to happen with Sidwell. He didn't always score from his chances but the opposition had to be aware of his late runs and that made space for others.
