That Friday Feeling
The Goat was fed calling it boring is frankly insulting

LOL. Precious.

Wins are great and promotion, should it happen, would be brilliant but I don't go to football to watch us win. I go to be entertained. Thankfully, most of the time I am.

If I had to watch what was served up last night 19 or 23 times a season then frankly I wouldn't bother no matter what success came with it.

Stats do not back up your view though do they.

Teams that are winning but playing 'ordinary' get bigger crowds than teams playing pretty football and losing.

We won 13 games at the start of 1985/86 and were not playing anything like good football, but guess what, we were close to sold out by the end of that run (even allowing for the cautious estimates of the numbers at some of the games).

I, like a significant proportion of fans, go to see the team win and I couldn't give a stuff how well or otherwise we play.

SSN reporting Portsmouth have guaranteed new funding of £200,000 per month to see them through to the end of the season.

A never ending supply of mugs then.

Just one worry. Is our style of play (high workrate, lots of closing down all through the team, no great emphasis on ball retention) in danger of slowly wearing the players out? Especially as we don't rotate the team much. I fret about running out of steam in April.

Payments that they are due by the FL are now being unfrozen. They were presumably held to make sure that if Pompey did just explode into liquidation mid-season the players and other clubs would be guaranteed some money.

Bear in mind this money will be provided depending on outstanding debts to other clubs which will be deducted first.
