Holloway claiming our first 2 goals were offside

Impossible to tell from the camera angles. Don't think there's much chance Pearce was offside, but Harte is at least a possible I guess. And to be fair, he didn't say they were offside, he said he thought they might have been didn't he? Sounds like he's not as sure as he was during the game maybe...

Watched second half online on Oz. Very calm, efficient performance - these players work so hard, must surely be among the fittest in the division. Thought McNuff was man of the match.

Cheers,

Barbara.

OK, I'll admit it...Karacan was bloody immense yesterday. Not only did he do the usual running around like a mentalist for 90 minutes but actually used a bit nous to pop the ball off nicely on occasion. Cummings seemed to come out of his shell a bit, showed that once he takes his blinkers off he can actually play a bit (other than just defend.) A lovely bit of trickery near the end in front of me in Y21. Sweet!

Jobi gave a proper Captain's performance albeit with a few shonky touches, but didn't they all. Hunt was so effective with his tireless running, totally un-droppable at the moment. No wonder ALF can't get a look in. Special mention for Benik Afobe who I thought played bloody well considering his age, lack of time with the team for training and pressure for playing in a game where we needed to win (or definitely not lose.) I thought he controlled the ball nicely, laid it off neatly, definitely showed Arsenal tendencies. Some may say he wasn't that effective, but he barely knew the players names let alone know how we play, what's required, when to run, when to hold back. He'll do just fine.

Only slight downside was Kebe...didn't really seem at the races. Is he nursing that injury still?

Much love,

Anton Z.

Mr Angry I'm pretty sure that the incident you are thinking of was when the ball came out to Kebe who was 6 or 7 yards out, and who smashed it goalwards; it didn't hit the post - it smacked against Noel Hunt (who was close to the post) who was taken by surprise so had no chance to control or direct the ball, and as a result, it cannoned back into play.

I can imagine from the South Stand, especially at the pace the ball was moving, you could be mistaken for thinking that the ball hit the post.

Clearly this is what happened - must have been the angle I saw it from as you say!

Jamie

The shot you spoke of did happen, but it didn't hit the post - it was literally inches over though.

Jimmy shifted the ball outside Crainey and smashed it early from the edge of the area. Don't back down just because nobody else remembers it. It was a good effort and was before the block from Noel.

Not according to the Football League Show it wasn't

Anyone else think Afobe's first touch was a little poor? Reminds me of what Shanes used to be like . Sure it will improve with some game time.

We looked really good today coming forwards today, Jobi and Jem had great games, Kebe was a little quiet but that often seems the case when he has a knock.

Bet on 3-1 so happy days

Federici 7 Let a freak goal in but did ok

Cummings 9 His pace made such a difference
Gorkss 7 Back to normal after Tuesday's nightmare
Pearce 9 He might have been our black hole filler this summer
Harte 7 Lack of pace not so worrying today

Karacan 9 His customary excellence
Leigertwood 8 Excellent
McAnuff 8 Involved in lots because....
...Kebe 7 Worked hard up against three defenders

Hunt 9 A burst of effort put the game safe when Blackpool looked capable of 2-2
Afobe 7 He means we don't have to change our style of play with Roberts missing

Man-of-the-Match - oxf*rd knows, it's usually Karacan

Should add Blackpool showed some neat passing, if they sorted out their defence they'd be alot higher

I agree with muddyfers - he looked half a beat off the pace of the game tbh. Understandable given that he hadn't played for a while but the ball wasn't exactly sticking to him.

I have a quite tremendous hangover but i'll say again that Karacan played very well yday, much better than usual IMHO as he used the ball much more effectively.

Fair play to you Ben for that one. It needs a kick start at West Ham if that chant is ever going to catch on. The death stare from the young girl below you was pure lolz.

I'm not sure if it has been mentioned yet but Kevin Blackwell was in attendance yesterday. I'm not sure why.

Is he scouting for anyone while he takes a break from management?

You sit just behind me. My daughter loved this chant but said "Dam, I've got boots on" haha.

The death stare was from my daughter!

Were you the drunk one singing that relentless song? I think my daughter asked you if you'd been drinking  and then told you you were stupid when she was asked to back you up and sing that song... That'a girl.
