He's clearly a 'lad' and as Wizz and others have said, if that's his personality and he's been given permission to go out and have a few fair play. I just think its regrettable for himself and the club that his first mention in a national newspaper is for getting caught be the cops rather than a MOTM performance against Man Utd.

I'm not overly fussed what Morrison did or didn't do, but he really should be taking better care of his body during the season and certainly shouldn't be getting nicked whilst being an ambassador for the club.

I think RL has it about right about him being a bit of a billy big bollocks, when in reality he's still a complete nobody. Interesting point RL made on the dates involved and whether he should've been out or not. I've not looked at the dates, but if it was reasonably close to the day of a game he could've been involved in then I'm sure the club will take an even dimmer view of his actions.

Generally anyone who sees themselves as a 'lad' is also usually a **** as well.

Rule of thumb.

he took a leak during a night out in public, :o

He is not exactly coming close to walking into the first 11 so who gives a toss, if you aint taken a leak on a night out you dont know what you are missing out on

Article in today's Times by Tony Evans, Football Editor
talking about the cover-up over the Hillsboro Disaster

Quote

Finally, we may be close to getting the truth,
a phrase distorted by Kelvin MacKenzie's despicable headline in The Sun,
above a story that accused Liverpool supporters of robbing the dead,
urinating on the police and making lewd suggestions about a dead girl.

Carry on quoting.

The Sun is the worst paper in Britain, sensationalist and lying

So people quote it and then argue.

Who knows THE FACTS?

I'm mostly commenting on the general scenario which hasn't been dismissed by player or club.

He was stopped by the cops, he was out drinking and he did get fined. Now if any of the other stuff reported happened, of which the silence by the club suggests is at LEAST partly true then it's worse, but even at the most basic level it's a bit stupid of him and not exactly the attitude of a player desperate to get a game.

Won't get drawn into the reporting merits of a particular tabloid because I know little of the writer or his sources. I think the Hillsborough story was despicable and at the very best naive bit of journalism but considering that happened over 20 years ago I doubt these particular writers had anything to do with it.

imo the liverpool fans did play a part in that disaster.
when speaking to 'pool fanes- they still take massive pride in travelling to, and jibbing into away games without tickets

obviously the suns reporting was pretty awful, but that seems to have resulted in stuff being totally glossed over and blacked out of the FACTs of what happened

The individuals don't matter.

It's the culture of the paper

From Despair To Where? Depends on whether he was having a discreet piss down an alleyway or waving his tackle about in the street. With the only source being The Sun, I'm more readily inclined to believe it was the former and if that's the case it really is a non story.

Either way, what concerns me more is the manner in which he has handled the situation aftwerwards which isn't particularly good. If that was me, I'd issue a statement stating that no offence was intended but apologising for any taken.

I'd probably extend to refuting the discription in the Sun if it wasn't accurate - but his response on Twitter is pretty petulant for someone who got caught pissing in public. Which, as you say, ain't a great sign.

Wimb Doesn't necessarily mean that he did exactly what was stated in the Sun's story but I find it hard to believe the same media department that got a fans forum summary taken down from a message board wouldn't have demanded equal retractions from The Sun.

The Sun's got better lawyers than hobnob and would eat RFC alive. And then exact retribution.
