LightwaterRoyal I stand by what I said about Blackman but to be fair to him that was a great pass to Kelly there.

Blackman has had a good game. He's found space well between their defence and midfield, had a good first touch and had always looked to lik up with Pog and the two wide men.

Well we started poorly with a lot of individual unforced passing errors. We're trying some clever diagonal balls that often look well flighted rather than hoofs, but are just not in anyway going where we actually want them. Missing their target by yards. Our passing is tidy and I think we dominated possession without seriously threatening Norwich's goal.

McCarthy - playing well with good distribution anda couple of claims / saves
Gunter - we're a bit open down the flanks but he's getting forward fairly well
Kelly - settled in to LB but like Gunter we're a bit open on the flanks.
Morro - can't recall him having to do much, a good sign
Maps - one pass to touch, otherwise same as Morro
Karacan - not doing badly, but his passing hasn't been great and he's lost the ball dangerously at least once
Guthrie - long passes terrible, short passes good. He's the deep lying playmaker.
Jobi - good interplay and linking with attack well
McCleary - lots of ball but looks somehow uncomfortable on the left. Can't produce a final product although one well hit shot narrowly over
Blackman - looks a little lost wide right, but doing ok
Pog - holding up the ball and exchanging passes well

Can't say we look like scoring. But I think we've taken another small step forward this half.

Pleased.

59.4% possession for the first half. Have we ever managed that for the past 2 years?. 78% pass completion too which isnt bad

I think we'd do well to swap Blackman and Mcanuff for a bit the 2nd half and see what happens.

I don't mind that if you call an all change instead and shift McCleary right, Jobi left and Blackman central.

Karacan has been, statistically, our best passer so far. 29/31 completed so far. Not saying he's been great- just keeping the flow in midfield.

Apologies, I should've been clearer. As his instinct has been to cut in I meant McCleary on the left and overlapping runners on his right.

I agree with that, Karacan looking much more comfortable, just ticking things over and playing the occasional dangerous pass forward.

Maybe I'm just being biased and that point where he lost the ball in front of our defence is the main thing to stick in my mind
