Depends what you mean by crap game. If you mean the football and entertainment on show, there are a lot of games you can call crap in which we have gained points, and indeed won some, but IMO a game we win is not a crap game, like the West Ham at the end of 2012. Crap game could be entertainment wise, it could be result wise, the term crap game could have a very broad meaning. I think I am looking into this too deeply though. A crap game is a crap game.

Crap game I'm proud I went to ?

Must be the already recalled 1-7 spanking at Chesterfield around 1979. Proud, because I hired a coach from Smiths Coaches and took 40 folks to the game !!
Left 4 or 5 up there after the game (my apologies if you are one of them).
Cracking day out. Guffed on the pitch. But a good day out despite the result.

Yeah, I was at that game ( local game for me as I was at Leicester at Uni). Took the lead too.

Also 2-1 defeat at Wealdstone in the cup in about 77. Humili8ing.

Talking of crap games and coaches - anyone remember the 5-2 drubbing we got at Barnsley in the late eighties?

Took the lead in that - Colin Gordon scored! Think we were 2-0 up before coach 1 arrived. Promptly conceded 5 including a spectacular scissor kick own goal from Stevie Richardson.

Remember one particular scrote giving it the big un when he got off the coach about how brilliant we were - only to throw a complete spastic just before the end. Can only presume it was Floyd's dad.

IA Akranes vs Stjarnen in the Icelandic Premier League last Sunday. I've seen better football in the Blue Square South.

Azerbaijan vs England in 2004 (& the U21s the previous evening).

Never been proud to see a crap Reading game.

AthleticoSpizz Walsall 6 - Top the table Reading 0

Reading 0 - Bury 2, fortunately rained off, we won the replay

Reading 0 - Wimbledon 3
Reading 0 - Palace 3
Reading 0 - Watord 3 all about the same time

Remember going to Fellows Park 76/77 going 1 up, then losing 6-1
only time I have walked out of a ground early.

Then driving through Brum when the exhaust broke on the car on one of the underpasses, and had to hold it up with a bandage from our football teams (Travellers FC) First Aid kit

Winchester Royal
Turnball ACs Plymouth away just after Christmas around when McD took over, lost 4-1. I was very angry at the end and let the players know about it.

I remember very little about that game, other than that it was shit and they refused to accept a £50 on the gate for two £25 tickets because, "we don' 'ave 'em darn 'eeeere".

Jesus, I remember this game too now. Ingimarsson with the latest challenge in the history of football to give away a penalty early doors and it all went downhill from there.

I haven't been to many, but the worst would have to be the 1-0 loss to Portsmouth at the ever beautiful Fratton Park.

That place was hell, a freezing cold damp day, even my bloody halftime pasty was frozen in the middle

Gandalf Presley A 4-1 defeat away to Leyton Orient in late 1989. A truly miserable performance with only Steve Francis having anything which resembled a decent game. I think most RFC fans were just resigned to defeat. Ian Branfoot's last game in charge.

This one springs to mind; at least my "Branfoot Out!" was rewarded.

1977/1978

Reading 2 Hartlepool 3

It was bitterly cold and I remember jeering a handful of Hartlepool fans from the front wall of the South Bank.

They had the last laugh though, as I think Mark White or Gary Peters lobbed the ball over our own goalie to give them a 3-2 win, sending the dozen or so away fans crazy.
