Well McCarthy gave impression on BBCRB interview earlier that we would beat them - but he's clearly playing games - though I think we SHOULD win this and if we do it will be 2-0 - probably ALF and Drenthe getting a goal each.

maffff Nicked at the death. 0-1 McGoldrick

I bet if we do go a goal down (in this, or any other game, late on) it'll be kitchen sink time and long balls into the box.
Every team does it, which is why you need to have that in your locker. I'm a little concerned that Adkins is so adamant on playing nice football that he won't allow us 'win ugly' on occasion. I hope i'm over-reacting and all is good. I'm sure Adkins knows a lot more about football management and tactics than I do too.
I imagine it'll be a boring draw of some kind though. Our side is still gelling and Adkins probably doesn't know his best XI yet either.

Adkins has said himself we need to be able to adapt to the situation.

1-1

Two late goals, us to come from behind.

Some memories on here are as short as Jay Tabb... Who is highly unlikely to score. Definitely more chance of it being an OG if he does.

I'm not sure it will.

Since BM left, slowly NA's influence has caused the squad to stop panicking so much. I remember some of the games towards the end had significant improvements in attitude, despite losses and going a goal or two down.

I hope (naively?) that the summer break, training, etc... has led to a more solid mindset in the players not to panic, and just to keep the ball on the ground and play simple, effective football.

As for predictions, no idea to be honest.

Ipswich will be a hard-working team who close us down and then try to play on the break. They have two forwards who have scored well in the last couple of games. We will try to play a passing game that falls apart when we lack the forwards to deal with it. We need to play 4-4-2 because that is what we need given the Forwards we have. However, I believe that Adkins does not have the flexibility to do this and he will play 4-2-3-1 despite the inability of our Forwards to deal with it. If we play a formation that cannot cope with a home match we will lose 2-1. If we play 4-4-2 and still play a passing game, we may just win! I'm a fan, I would love to be wrong but I can't see it!

Ipswich will definitely score at least one as we don't do clean sheets.

I can't see our forwards scoring so it will have to be down to one of the CBs from a free kick or corner. Therefore 0 or 1 to us 1 or more to Ipswich.
