Great idea to bring your best goal scorer on. Not so great when you take your best assist maker off to do it.

I don't understand why our leading goal scorer and our leader in assists are both sitting on the bench every week (albeit the latter is a rather new thing)

"Attempt missed. Alex Pearce (Reading) left footed shot from outside the box misses to the left following a corner."

Blimey, we are getting desperate if we are relying on Pearce shots from outside the box! Pog, Sharp and ALF must wonder what they're on the pitch for. TBF so do I, only 1 shot on target all game coming in the 78th minute.

Still think Adkins should be given until the end of the season at least, but losing patience VERY quickly.

Makes McD look like a tactical genius.

Reading slip out of the play-offs and both Forest and Blackpool have games tonight. Be interesting to see the club spin.

Sounds like another uninspiring performance.

I wouldn't mind the defeats if we at least played exciting football, but life under Adkins has been a relentless boreathon.

I don't know what new signings would turn it around -the players aren't bad, they're just playing a system that doesn't work and which limits each and every one of them.

I have nothing against Blackman but how on earth can he be playing whilst McCleary - who to me has been one of the best players of the season - sits on the bench!

Adkins team selections and substitutions are baffling.

It's alright chaps, we're building a team capable of staying in the prem when we get there. Patience

So bored with the game, decided to schedule out the number of times each of our players was mentioned in the BBC text commentary. Whilst this proves nothing as bad points, (conceding penalty), have the same weighting as good ones, (attempts on goal), it gives an indication of who was actually involved in the game. Clearly Nick Blackman had a blinder!! The Leicester list also suggests they had more of the play.

McAnuff 6
Drenthe 6
Pogrebnyak 5
Guthrie 5
Gunter 5
Pearce 4
Cummings 4
Williams 3
Le Fondre 2
Gorkss 2
Sharp 1
McCarthy 0
Blackman 0

Knockaert 11
Vardy 9
Konchesky 8
Dyer 7
Nugent 6
Morgan 4
James 4
Waghorn 4
Drinkwater 3
Moore 3
Hammond 2
Taylor-Fletcher 1
Scmeichel 0
da Laet 0

Happy New Year to all RFC fans. Here's hoping 2014 will be somewhat better than 2013.

Watching Reading is painful, at least under Heston we had a bit of passion and kept going for 90 minutes, with Adkins there's just nothing it's all just very :| with totally unfathomable team selections and substitutions.

While I think we needed to move to the more passing based game that Adkins prefers, getting there is just an unbelievably bad journey. I am currently firmly putting this down to the continued lack of investment that this club insists on following, and has done so more or less solidly since 1987 for one reason or another, rather than bad management.

2013 did massively suck bar the Newcastle win, WBA win and Chelsea draw. Here's to better times hopefully!
