2 world wars, 1 world cup From the sound of it, sounds like we put in a good shift and this could've gone either way. Penalty turned down, mistake lead to their goal and we pressured well.

Not bad at all. Oddly I'd much rather this than the victories we were having earlier in the season where we could've lost 4-0 but would somehow end up 1-0 winners.

Not too disappointed.

oxf*rd that, I'd take 1-0 win any day of the week over a loss.

This board sometimes

+1
Although a decade ago if i'd been at a game i'd probably have moaned about the performance later on! These days when i'm at a game the result matters more to me than it used to..

Pah. Trying to see the positives!

Seriously though a point made repeatedly up until Xmas was that yes we were winning but our performances were so bad that we were winning despite rather than because of our performances and that it'd only be a matter of time before we'd slump, which we did. I think we've turned a corner in our performances with our last two wins and so to use the same argument I'm much happier now playing well and losing in a game, as we can have hope for the next few games where results are more likely to go our way, compared to the odd win playing badly knowing that we'd slump.

Not too difficult a point to understand for most I hope!

Have to defer to those who were there of course, but we sounded fairly good on the radio.

Exactly.

Maybe I'm too used to being around intellectuals but sometimes a bloody simple point bamboozles people here!

Radio Berks just announced that someone has edited Wikipedia to say that the Sultan of Oman has acquired a 100% stake.

They actually thought an edit on Wikipedia should be broadcast as news? :|

They read someone's message referring to the Wikipedia page and said similar had been done a while ago regarding the American bid.

Apparently the girl who reads the texts came bursting into the room with the message eager to tell everyone.

Hmm, I was there too and don't think "most" people left after the second, although a few did. I also didn't notice any booing. I wouldn't say it was a good performance on the pitch but the match was less depressing and a fair bit pacier than many I've seen this season. Still a long way to go before that squad can be expected to play a reliably good game. Meanwhile, how does ITFC justify charging so much for those awful cramped seats and dire facilities?

kwik-silva Hunt's killed another keeper.

Not wishing a bad injury on McCarthy, but it would have been karma on Reading fans had he put McCarthy out for months.
