He was off over Christmas for personal issues that he said he hoped he could reveal in time....

Sadly whatever the reason for it, his form has just not been up to scratch for a player that's reportedly one of our highest paid of all time.

I think I said it during the match report for the Bournemouth game I posted on the TTE, but if you asked a randomer to pick who out of Matt Ritchie and Royston had been at Real Madrid in 2011 and which has been at Swindon, not one could have picked Drenthe.

I too saw the shisha pictures. (Sp?) I didn't think much of them and didn't watch the videos . However I think it's fair to say his heart isn't here. Make it easy for him, allow him to leave on a free, thank him for what he's done (not much but that's by the by) and move on in the summer.

Who will want him though? I heard Brighton were in awe of him in the summer, anyone fancy dropping a call to the Amex

That smacks of "it's not me, it's the manager's fault"

There were many paper articles about Royston's "friends" warning him about going to big cities with their "distractions" from back in his Everton days. A quick Google search brings them up.

Also for an experienced player who has worked hard to maintain his fitness such as Ian Harte to fly off the handle at him so publicly...? I made my suggestion on that thread.

There's an elephant in the room, which no one seems to mention directly, apart from Brendy who never stops

If we got to the play off final, I would start him.

Can see him actually trying for that game and playing a blinder.

Then I would get rid.

Anyone hear Nige on the radio today when asked about selling Drenthe? He sarcastically said "Well he's got a 4 year contract ain't he?"

Clearly enamoured with the guy! NOT

So how do we get this d1ckhead off our books?

Leave a trail of food to Dover and then push him over the cliff.

@lewisgilbert1997 let's say the club wanted me to leave because someone wasn't around anymore and they told me that I am not gonna play until I find another club or when the transfers period close

Adkin's post match interview was quite amusing, Dellor asked him about Drenthe and whether he would leave and he said sarcastically "Well, he's got a four-year contract."

Clearly Adkins had nothing to do with the signing, we all know it was a luxury Anton signing and gawd knows how we are going to sell him.

Wait, Royston's a cnut because he wasn't being played because the club signed a contract they can't or won't honour?

This all comes back to AZ and "Be careful what you wish for!"

Adkins put a brave face on it in the summer, but thinking back, even then there were financial warning signs
and broken promises. January and signings/no-signings, the loss of Baird and Sharp...

But blokes are blokes and all this must have caused unrest and lowered morale in the dressing room.

In the end, missing the POs by a single point feels close to a miracle.

God knows how good Drenthe COULD be, but with this sort of pressure on him,
is it any wonder if he feels a little less than 100% committed?
