I pay my money so I have the right to my opinion. What gives you the right to talk to me like that? Clueless style of play, clueless substitutions, clueless purchases, can't remember when the team looked this disorganised....

And he has a right to tell you its shit.

Because anyone who thinks it's a 'shame' that a genuinely decent guy who has stuck with the club in it's own dark days isn't out of a job isn't worthy of being talked to with any respect.

Oh have a day off winchy, was he "sticking by the club" for free?

The likes of Roy Tranter stuck with the club through really dark days, Adkins has had it easy compared to most.

It's never been remotely cordial in the 12 years I've been around and actually is a damned site less fractious now than it has been for much of those years.

I remember some pretty nasty ding dongs in the 90s when I was just reading, not posting. Woodcote springs to mind, but it's a long time ago.

It's fairly contemptible to claim your right to an opinion to avoid any criticism of it.

Either way, he's a good guy and I think it's just plain nasty to wish a guy out of a job.

Comparing Adkins, a manager, to Roy Tranter is bizarre.

Has Adkins had it easy compared to Pardew, Burns, Coppell, Rodgers? No. I would say not. In fact I'd say he's had it harder than most of our managers for quite some time.

Screwed by a failed takeover, he's the only Reading Manager since the introduction of transfer windows to be denied the opportunity to sign players during one. Surely the only recent manager you can argue who's even possibly had it harder is McDermott. And most the difficulties he had apply to Adkins too.

The only reason he stayed here is because we are paying him, if we'd got to a time where we couldn't pay him he'd have been off like a shot.

There is no way you can actually know that, so it's a ridiculous thing to claim as fact.

I simply LOVE threads like this!

:D

Who says football fans have no perspective, and no sense of history??

From disaster to disaster? Really???

On the back of 2 defeats?

Boo hoo hoo, we aren't in the Premier League anymore so all my friends who support Chelsea and Manchester United and Liverpool make fun of me in the playground - it's simply NOT FAIR!!! and its just a disaster!!!

GROW A oxf*rd PAIR!!! This is what supporting a Football club (rather than being another means of generating money for Americans/Arabs/Russians) is all about; the pain and the unhappiness makes the success - when it comes (and we have had a hell of a lot of success in the last 10-15 Years tbh) all that much better.

It's what the lyrics of Sweet Caroline are all about!

It's just a shame there's not a gif to express how you feel about this thread.

Hmmm.... I can't be arsed to wade through all of the previous pages. So we lose two games on the bounce, with a squad down to the bare bones because of injuries, and it's a disaster. Well. in that case I'll just cheer myself up by taking a wander over to the Fulham fan pages, largely PL squad still, £11M for a striker in Chump, getting beaten in first four games. Now that's a disaster.

From a premiership side to a side that will struggle to remain in the championship. Timeline - less that two seasons. This despite the money from the premiership and the parachute payments. What would you say constitutes a ' football disaster'? Perhaps you weren't around when we spent 50 years or so in the wilderness. Its been a massive catalogue of disastrous decisions. From not spending in our first premiership season - to selling to a waster with no money - to our present fire sale of all our best players. And Christ we pick the worst sickly song of all time!! The truth is there is no heart in the club anymore. As we drift down, no-one will want to join us (Bamford) as failure will begat failure. The ides of March are nigh!
