Fair play to him for the letter, its not like he had to do it.

Was the right time for him to move on, good for him that he's got the move he wanted.

Good luck Jem

One of my favourite players, but never really for his ability.
Shame, but probably right time for him and us

Good luck to him. The club did the right thing for the club (because of his injury record) and Karacan has done the right thing for himself. Let's face it who would not take a 3 year deal with Galatassaray over a 1 year pay as you play with RFC.

Good luck Jem. You will always get a good round of applause from me if you ever play at the Madstad (or Carabao Bowl) again.

I really liked Jem as a player - always rated him.
But paying a players wages for two years whilst he's injured and then releasing him on a free is SO Reading.
Im really rather hoping that those days are about to come to an end and we can get on with being a proper championship team.

And we could hardly just stop paying him when he was injured.

Its a quip more than anything - a comment, wry or otherwise, on our recent situation. Not sure when the the team board became so face value.
I dont especially want to see him leave, because I thought he might be a bit of a secret weapon for us next season. But for now, much like Clarke's tenureship last year, the jury is still out on the current ownership/management.

Good luck Jem, great move for him.

He has served us very well over his career at Reading FC.

Nature of football isn't it !!
Is there a club where the jury has stayed in for any extended length of time ?

And of course the second season in the Prem !
The Plymouth game wasn't exactly a happy event either. Joint bottom of the league IIRC and huge questions around unknown Irishmen and cheap journeymen,

I remember going to away games under Pardew where no-one, and I mean NO-ONE, thought he was any good. And regardless of whether he actually got us promoted or not, he set the foundation for the Coppell era. So, essentially we were wrong. Plus the era under Pardew was, actually, kind of fun (Hello Susie and 10000+ miles away!). Im still not sure about Clarke, tbh. Losing your POTS, team captain and club captain within six weeks is just mental - but the signings in the last few weeks are so much more impressive than any of Adkins' signings. I just dont know what to think tbh.

Then again, quite a few of us knew at the time that we were witnessing a top manager developing a solid base for the future

You're only saying that because you have hindsight on Adkins' signings and not presently.

Drenthe, Bridge and Williams were all extremely impressive signings. Mackie, Cox, Murray, Ferdinand, all proven top-end Championship players with PL experience. That leaves Norwood, two and a half seasons in the Championship and 6 goals the previous season, just in a position where we thought we'd be fine for numbers once Guthrie and Karacan were fit.

Dear Galatasaray representatives:

We also have a player who, in his words, ran himself into the ground for Wales. Would you like to take him off our hands? He has a very enthusiastic agent.

Caracas's name hasn't been submitted to the Turkish FA as one of their listed tranfers. Strange?

Galatasaray, Jem Karacan statement made outside of TFF Paul all made new contract players reported to the TFF.
It will be sent Sercan Yildirim?
It will be sent Sercan Yildirim?
Futbolar until Detail - Galatasaray Jem Paul Karacan his three-year deal was not reported to TFF.

TFF had to let 28 players this year with a new foreign rule, which was to report Jem Paul Karacan yet Galatasaray 2015-2016 staff.

It includes only the name of the six players in his statement Galatasaray TFF. This name if internal and external transfer signing players scored. Galatasaray, Jem Paul Karacan drew attention to not include in this list.
