Am I the only one who thinks £4m is a poor fee for someone who has just signed a 3 year extension?
Given the quality he showed last season, I would have hoped for £6m

I take it you haven't read the previous posts on both these threads, in that case....

...yes you are the only one who thinks £4m is a poor fee.

TBM I'm sure £4m is just the upfront fee

Based on appearances etc i reckon it could rise to double that.....also with a decent sell on % whacked on

100 quid per league cup appearance.
We'll be rolling in it.

This makes no sense. They just signed a 26 year old centre back for about £4m, and they already have plenty of options. Why sign a defender who is unlikely to ever be good enough for them?

£4m is probably fair based on his ability, but I'm surprised we'd let him go for that.

(Fun fact: John Stones made his England debut at 20. Michael Hector was playing for Shrewsbury at 20)

£4m for a 23 year old player who's only really played one season in the Championship, and that was that saw his side flirting with relegation and gifting the opposition far too many soft goals, is a pretty good price if you ask me.

All this talk of great potential, he's 23 and still get in the side ahead of Anton Ferdinand and Paul McShane. I hate the think what the reaction would be were we bidding that kind of money on a player with those credentials.

I can't for the life of me figure out why Chelsea are even considering it to be honest.

Does this include them loaning him back to us?

We'll be desperately short at CB if not....

When Ferdinand inevitably breaks down in the next couple of weeks we'll be short of CB cover. What drives me nuts about these type of signings is that we all know that Hector has absolutely no chance of playing for the Chelsea first team......an utter waste of his footballing career.

£4m - feel like we've been robbed

That said, if it allows us to strengthen up front then it's probably the right thing to do
