Official site confirms Kanu also called up this week for Sierra Leonne; one of their games this week is against Egypt.

So 4 players in total.

Kind of hoping if the takeover goes through, we can strengthen the squad and actually play through these international breaks. It will be easier for the schedule and really, if you look at our current players out, only Bindon is a real miss to the squad isn't he?

Unless of course we fumble our way to promotion, in which case it's a moot point.

Garcia a miss too....but yep not the other two. I'm surprised the criteria isn't stricter on calling games off ie based on recent first team appearances.

Think this particular window the break has helped us.

Oh yeah, absolutely. Hopefully it will give us the refresh required for a strong final push towards the play-offs.

Kanu has actually been named in Sierra Leone's U20 squad, unless there was a late change (which there might be as one of the defenders in their full squad pulled out today). The relevant games are friendlies against Ghana U20 and Morocco U20.

The AFCON U20 tournament runs from 26 April, so I doubt if Reading will be keen for him to be in the squad for that. If normal rules apply that would make him unavailable from 12 April. But if he is not injured, it seems odd that he hasn't been involved recently given our centre-back crisis.

An interesting side note is that Chris Wood was substituted after scoring a hat trick and soon after while the game was still going on went into the stands to sign autographs. He got booked by the referee for entering the crowd!

Today (Tuesday) Bindon is off to sit his full driving licence test so hopefully he will return to the UK and be able to drive himself home.

Garcia - came on as a 94th minute substitute in England U18's first game. Started the second game but was injured after 31 minutes (whilst he was on the pitch England went 2-0 up against France but it ended 2-2). Wasn't involved in the third game.

Kanu - started for Sierra Leone U20 in a 4-1 loss to Morocco. This was part of a tournament in Morocco - Sierra Leone were meant to play Ghana today, but for some reason Morocco played them instead, so I guess there was no second game.

Tuma - came on as sub in both Malta games.
