Ideal

ElmParker It would take some pretty blinkered vision to see Oster as one of our better players.

He certainly wasn't our worst in every game but the ignorant twats who comprise the boo boys treated him as such!

He was shit.
In fact he was worse than shit.
I wouldn't even flush John Oster down the drain.
He's like a spent dog-poo-bag, he has no value whatsoever.

You should hear what he says about you!

Royal Rother Ivar, Sodje and Bennett to go - poss Sonko as well.

2 from Bikey, Cisse, Duberry and Pearce would be fine with me. No need for more than 4 Central Defenders in the CCC surely?

Much rather have Ivar han Cisse to be honest - Cisse's reluctance to head the ball will probably see him found out in the CCC.

surprised about oster, if we stayed up i would understand as i think he had his chance in the premier league at the end of the season. SSC started him in enough games, but he didnt produce. however, being back in the CCC I think that oster would have been a good squad player being an out and out right winger, also one who isnt injury prone. understand DLC going due to age and we have enough defenders.

At least he never refused to play for the reserves, not the greatest player but an honest hard working pro who did not deserve the abuse he got. Remmber WBA at home in the cup he was superb that night. Good luck in the future John hope you find another club.

I am not Welsh - I'm far too bright and wouldn't dream of going out on the piss into the early hours the night before featuring in the squad against Spurs.

I wasn't the only poster to see him out and about, but then again I don't have the justify myself given even the club know he's a waste of space and let him go. Sunderland, Leeds, Burnley and Everton don't seem to have rated him either.

Where did you develop this delusion of intellectual superiority? If you are so bright what are you doing at Bournemouth instead of a hot seat of academia?

Ask RL or any of the others who posted about him being out on the piss.

De La Cruz should not be leaving, disgraceful decision as far as im concerned despite his age. He is Linford Christie compared to Murty and Shorey, and would have been an excellent player for us next season.

Branfoot out.

Because I enjoy sunning myself on the beach and taking life in as well as becoming a well-rounded educated individual of superior intelligence.

Will be interesting to see where Oster ends up?

A 'larger' lower end Championship side I guess, Southampton/Wednesday.

If Leeds come up..

Thanks for the memories john. Much like marek he was one of the most technical players in the squad. You could tell he'd been given a premiership education and it showed. The problem with oster in the side is that we have championship mentality players who were never in the position they should be, thats why a lot of balls went to waste and john was singled out.
Oster's ball against blackburn last year which bentley scored from stood out for me. Shorey should of been 5 yards further forward and we would of had a decent attack, instead he was way off play stood diddling his thumbs and the ball went to bentley. Premiership players move into space and a lot of the times balls are played into an area where people SHOULD be running, reading players never made that movement and thats why we never had large periods of possession in the prem or couldn't string more than 5 passes together.
Oster played a lot of under-rated balls like that and its a shame our players didn't have the mentality or awareness to find space and make better runs. One of the genuine " football" players we've had in recent times.
Take care john.

Have to say that is a fantastic assesment of Oster's Reading career, agree with a lot of that. I always had a lot of time for Oster, sad to see him go.

Yep, Shorey (and his England caps) are certainly Championship class.

I can pass a ball into open space and straight to an opponent too, doesn't mean I have amazing vision.
