floyd__streete We weren't so much lack lustre, more just comfortable really. Two decent strikes for the goals. Can't agree with Pearcey about our centre-midfield as I thought that Sigurdsson and particularly Karacan were very good. Convey showed some nice touches. Didn't quite share everyone's enthusiasm for the FGR number 11; he can run but has absolutely zero end product. Much the same as Reading's number 7.

to be fair Savage didn't get booed at all. He was one of those rare players who was such a blend of enthusiasm and incompetence that people seemed to like him. True, they didn't want him in the team, but nobody really had a go at him.
the fact is though, some people love to have a scapegoat. If they have someone they can shout abuse at and moan about it makes them feel better.

Dont agree Floyd...I thought both Karacan and Sigurdsson created next to nothing....some of Karacan's passing was pretty wayward as well...twice in as many minutes he passed the ball straight into touch. Convey was also very quiet..how many decent crosses did he put in?

I know who's match report I'd wager was the more accurate, and it certainly wouldn't be yours PEARCEY.
Cheers floyd, as expected then really?

What was offensive about my post? His username is in capitals, which is why I used them. You need to take a chill pill Archie's penalty, relax.

floyd__streete I'm not in for a slanging match with Pearcey, whose input I don't always agree with but is always reasonably even-handed and well expressed. I would say that Karacan (besides scoring with an excellent strike) dominated the midfield with Sigurdsson who looked strong. I take Pearcey's points regarding one or two wayward Karacan passes in the second half but I thought that generally he looked composed and played with plenty of tenacity. Convey never really took on and beat the right back admittedly but his passing was good, he looked fit and mobile, he was first to the ball in making plenty of useful interceptions and he put a quite excellent, intelligent first time ball into the box - the best cross of the game by a country mile - in the second half which skimmed Lita's forehead.

Reading that makes me happy.
