Royal Lady NOW do people see why I'm less than impressed? hardly glowing reports from all areas.

Oh no, you mean Watford fans are being negative about someone BR has signed.

Christ, Rodgers ain't thick, he's worked with them before and knows what they're about, if he didn't think they'd add something to the team then he wouldn't have signed them.
Please give me a definitive list of all the other options he had. Ta.

Yep, because I'd know who else Rodgers was considering.

FWIW most Watford fans are gutted at losing out on Rasiak, and quite rightly to, he scored 10 in 15 for them last season.

And when Rodgers signed for us all the WFC fans were talking of how good McAnuff was under him.

It adds experience and depth to the squad. Something we needed and now have. Perhaps if we could all be slightly positive for 2 minutes it might make the day more enjoyable.

Ian Royal Yep, I'll go with the professional opinions over a bunch of fans who don't like us or Rodgers anyway.

I was being honest about McAnuff. I really wouldnt expect much from him after the first couple of games. And for the record I've always liked Reading, its just BR I have a problem with (like most wfc fans)

It's just for the promotional pics, same thing happened when we signed Mills.

Royals sign McAnuff and Rasiak

Reading have completed the signings of striker and attacking midfielder Jobi McAnuff
Polish international Rasiak joins the Royals from Southampton and the 6'3" 30-year-old frontman has signed a two-year contract which also includes an option for a third year.

27-year-old midfielder McAnuff has signed a three-year contract at Madejski Stadium after completing a move from fellow Coca-Cola Championship side Watford. Both fees will remain undisclosed.

Chairman Sir John Madejski said, "I would like to welcome Jobi and Grzegorz to Reading and these signings are very good news for the club. ”They both come with a great reputation and a wealth of experience and encouragingly both have worked under our manager before. "We wish both Grzegorz and Jobi the very best of luck in their Reading careers."

Director of Football Nick Hammond said, "Grzegorz brings good experience; he's an international player and has scored goals at that level.<BR><BR>"He did very well for Brendan last year, he's got a proven goal record and gives us the sort of attacking option that we haven't had for some time at this club.

"Jobi is an old-fashioned winger. Under Brendan, his contribution to Watford was outstanding last season. "He's a creative force, he has good pace, can play off either wing and is very diligent even when without the ball at his feet. He gives us something a little different."
"Between the pair we have added more than 500 games of experience at this level of football - that will be important for our young squad.
"Both players are already known to the manager and the staff and we're very, very pleased to have them.

I note that Madejski didn't trot out the usual "These signings demonstrate our ambition to get back into the Premiership" line.

What happened?

Typical reaction on here to low cost signings:

Sonko, Hunt, Doyle, Kitson - uninspiring, unambitious signings

Lita, Faye, Halford - big money, must be good
