To the guy behind me who under Rogers continually moaned 'to get it forward', yesterday moaned that the ball was going too long in the first half: Precious.....cou-t*sser-gh

Just got back to Cambridge.

Thought the game was pretty poor, but we made Swansea look distinctly average and with someone capable of passing or otherwise generally playing football in place of Cisse*, someone who can run in place of Gunnarsson and someone who isn't a useless, shit, fat Irish leprechaun playing upfront with Rasiak we probably would have won.

McAnuff was worryingly poor following Rodgers' departure. Sig was once again very good. We lost all ability to hold the ball once Rasiak and Marek went off and that was essentially game over.

Ivar and Pearce were ok with not much troubling them, although Ivar managed yet again to be turned easier than John Barrowman. Thought Bertrand was sub standard as well. Although I don't think the conditions helped either team much.

Federici - 7 (just) pulled off a couple of good/important saves, but not much to do.
Gunnarsson - 6 a couple of excellent moments, but always looked like he was about to get rinsed second half and doesn't have the pace or legs to support McAnuff, who was left looking lonly and disinterested.
Bertrand - 6 nothing especially poor or good. Wasn't impressed
Ingimarsson - 6 too slow, too easily turned, but you can tell he used to be an outstanding player.
Pearce - 6 Good, bit clumsy and I can really see what people have been saying about him being flat footed. He needs to take lessons from Ivar on spreading his weight and being on the balls of his feet.
McAnuff - 5 did basically nothing but spoon crosses
Siggurdsson - 8 great freekick for the goal and was solid throughout the game. interchanged well with Marek. Didn't seem to know his position very well though.
Matejovsky - 6 some nice stuff, but didn't seem to have a midfield partner. Ended up isolated or sitting too deep.
Cisse - 5 woeful passing, woeful vision /awareness and never in the middle where we needed him*
Long - -67 He is stupid, he is no longer quick, he is fat, he has a poor first touch, can't pass and can't shoot. In short, he is not a footballer. I hope he oxf*rd off as soon as possible. Not even good enough for the reserves.
Rasiak - 5 isolated because he had a total retard playing next to him fecking everything up and got no real service.

Kebe 6 one nice run, could have made better decisions, but the game was dead not long after he came on.
HRK - 4 bless him, not in anyway a replacement for Rasiak, had no chance.
Karacan - 5 ran about a bit, but we'd lost all shape and any semblance of creativity by the time he came on.

* In fairness to Cisse I should note that he was obviously doing a man marking job on Swansea's "hole" man. Which meant he spent most of his time following him around just next to the defence. Leaving Marek on his own against two midfielders. I understand why it was done. And we got a point. But i didn't really like it.

McDermott - 7 unbeaten again and restricted Swansea to very little. Shame about the obligatory soft goal. Our defending is comedy a lot of the time. Ivar really needs to be dropped IMO. Cisse simply cannot play well for more than the odd game in midfield. Gunnarsson is not an acceptable right back. Long should be taken out the back and shot.

:D

Cisse problemis that good players just play round him.

He's no way near good enough for us if we want to improve. We need a younger Bryn. Howard the Coward aint the player Rodgers' said he was was either.

I think Howard was actually pretty good once he stopped being used as the attacking, creative player. If we play three in the middle for me it has to be Siggurdsson, Karacan & one of Marek / Howard. If we play two it has to be Siggurdsson and Karacan, although Howard might be ok in for Karacan. Sig and Marek would be too lightweight IMO.

Cisse is a centreback who can't head well, simple as.

We really need a win against Plymouth, but hopefully Church is back for that one. If we can get the two midfielders playing further up the pitch and squeezing them in their own half we've got a pretty good chance as long as McAnuff hasn't decided to sulk now Rodgers has gone.

Another striker in (Thorvaldsson). Howard back and maybe a new rightback (or Bertie switched with Armstrong back in) and we should hopefully start putting away more chances, take pressure of the defence and conceed fewer as well/ Then we can move up the table.

It's very important Plymouth don't beat us, so we go into the new year off the back of an unbeaten run which we can build confidence from.

I'd LOLaugh if Plymouth won, really would. Really grotty goal, deflected in with 10 to go. The absolute doom and gloom on here would be priceless.

You can try an insult me all you want, I don't value your opinion enough to care. However, its nice to see you attending the odd game now, obviously pressured into it by everyone calling you a clueless armchair fan.

+1

You weren't having a laugh Ian, you were getting harassed so much so you were panicking like a rabbit in headlights. For the record I thought they went way too far, but posts like your previous one at me shows there is little point in having sympathy in someone so aggressive and neanderthal like in his posts.

Just two things to add

Cisse was asked to man mark Pratley - as a result he was nothing like as effective as he was against Bristol where he covered loads of ground and made more tackles than the rest of the midfield put together (ok -that's not saying that much!). As Pratley scored this looks like a pretty poor tactic form BMcD

And agree with comments about Marek - some great passes and especially the through ball to Long. That was sublime and perfectly weighted - I still don't know how Long failed to latch onto it before the keeper got there

Covered the least of our outfield players against City.

HE plays in a square between the half way line and the penalty box. It's when he is forced to come out of the square that he has problems.

The amount of space Bodde had in midfield first half was ridiculous sometimes. Anytime Swansea players couldn't find space then a simple pass back to him was always on the cards. We shouldn't of waited until half time to change this and we were lucky to go in level at the break. The final quarter of the game both teams cancelled each other out and the game was dead.

We desperately need a win tomorrow because we're f**ked if we get anything other than loose change in January.

I've said it before and i'll say it again, we have seven subs now so why not risk Baggie on the bench. Particularly when the awful Long is playing!

Too much space for the Swansea players to be able to pass like they did.
