Thaumagurist* I suggest you rely on soccerbase rather than f365! ;)

THis is the same Soccerbase that shows us as having Brian Howard on loan and some other player called Adam Griffin on loan as well?

I can see your point.

Site I'd most trust is http://www.royalsrecord.co.uk/

In particular:

http://www.royalsrecord.co.uk/seasons/summary.html

FWIW, it shows 17 at Tier 2 and 8 at Tier 4 since 1920/21 (first season in Football League)

THat's a good site and one which I never knew existed - now bookmarked.

Wycombe Royal
Terminal Boardom Must be over twice the number of years at second tier and above than 4th tier.

Do you know nothing?

According to F365 stats:

2 season in Tier 1
14 seasons in Tier 2
11 seasons in Tier 4

So 16 against 11 doesn't equal over twice the number does it?

It appears the F365 know nothing.

Come those two matches if nothing has improved and we are still in this limbo, then what ? January window closed, no chance of any new blood to freshen things up and we would just have to "go with what we have" ?? now where have I heard that before ???

"Emergency" loan window will still be open (30-90 days), so not much of a change to current position.

Isnt the emergency loan just for squad shortages through injuries and illness, or for specialist positions i.e no fit goalkeepers etc......??

The emergency bit is just a red-herring to get round the FIFA/UEFA rules and allow our non-tier 1 clubs to operate outside of the window. It means we can get short term loans in (1-3 months) in whatever positions we like.

Basically, if we want to sign someone after the end of Jan we can do it on loan, with the terms including the permanent signing at the end of the deal.

SLAMMED So I'm supposed to stop supporting my team because we are playing poorly...

You're the deluded one mate.

Did he say stop supporting your team?

I think he made it quite clear who he wasn't supporting and it wasn't the players!

winchester_royal No doubt the board believe, quite rightly IMO, that the current squad is easily good enough to stay up. If we go down then so be it, but I don't want the long term stability of this club threatened by panic spending.

No, far better to have the long term stability of the club threatened by the financial consequences of failure to invest and spiralling our way down the divisions!

Oh and to elaborate. I think we are in a whole load of shit.

I suppose, a few seasons in League 1 won't be the end of the world. Forest are looking strong, and I guarantee that Leeds will be good next season in the Champ.

Said right from the start and even though Liverpool was a welcome relief, I am still convinced.

YES.

Terminal Boardom
Thaumagurist* I don't agree with this notion that we have a natural position and that it is in the third tier. We are where we are.

We've even spent more time in this division than we have in the fourth tier. And that's a fact.

Can't disagree with that no matter how hard I try. Must be over twice the number of years at second tier and above than 4th tier.

I think this season is our 16th at this level. We spent 8 seasons in the 4th tier.

We've spent more in the 3rd tier than any other though. Which was kind of my point, illustrated by the fact that we have started heading back there now that our benefactor has hit financially straitened times.

That may be so (that we've spent more time in the 3rd), but it doesn't mean it's our "natural position". I don't believe that there is a "natural position" in football.

I'm sure you're right but it sure doesn't feel like that at the moment.

Don't mind me, I'm just on a downer after last week's high - I'm sure I'll get over it after a couple of league wins.
