sandman No it's not.
As Reading FC have started the pantomime season so very early:

Caskeys Lovechild Anyone calling for McDermotts head, is an ill informed oxf*rd, with zero understanding of football, or management. We shouldn't even be in this league. You DO NOT penalise managers for over achievement in the previous period in business, football is no different. We are on target at present, there is absolutely no reason to rock the boat until we have missed target for 6 months.

But you do penalise managers for poor performance, irrespective of their achievements in previous periods.

'On target'??? WTF? On target to go straight back down. And that is not acceptable. Even if you have fluked your way their in the first place, you shouldn't just roll over and head straight back.

Sorry why is it "unacceptable"? You could have 20 fantastic teams, with good managers & 3 will still go down. Maybe it's your expectations that are unacceptable?

I don't think many people are currently calling for his head. I'm certainly not. What I am saying is that he needs to show an improvement in what he's doing and our results or he will be due to go in the not too distant future.

A little while longer at least. Beat Villa and things look much much much better again. As long as we're not adrift he deserves a chance to try and turn things around, especially with 1 loss in 5.
