Snowball Flat Track bullies who win away at Ipswich, pummeled Burnley away, won away at Leicester,
beat Burnley at the Mad Stad, have beaten two Premiership sides, drew with the sides that
are currently 3rd, 5th, 6th and 9th (twice)

Leicester were near us at the bottom of the league when we played them back in August (they may have even been bottom).

I'll give you Burnley but I fail to see how draws should be celebrated :?

Are they "3rd, 5th, 6th and 9th (twice)" in the Championship?

absolutely delighted at this run, we even won without some of our attacking stars last night. Tbh we look unstoppable. However, life is not like that (er, except for 05/06). It would be great to sneak into the playoffs, we have to be fancied there. I fear our mid-season dip may have left us too much to do, though.

So it'll have to be the Cup.

Mills out. Long clearly having difficulty and needing a top up pain killer. Not good.

Pessimist! QPR are wobbling....

Has a club ever won the second-tier and the FA Cup in the same season?

All we have to do is win our last ten games and hope QPR only get 14 points from 10 games. EASY!

Long's had that for weeks and it hasn't slowed him down. He's one tough hombre... personally I think he should have been given a couple of games off to recover when it first happened, we're storing up trouble IMO. But only a little while to go til the end of the season and if we can have him break down on the last game then hopefully no one will want to buy him.

Mills is a worry if we have to rely on Ivar in his place, but if Pearce can be fit in time for Man City, certainly the next league game, then I don't think he's a big miss. Maybe Morrison can make the step up in the league now?

I can see it now. We just make the play-offs and Long breaks down in the semi-final.

After scoring a hat-trick. Noel scores the winner in the final.

Long, on crutches in tears, with the FA Cup and RFC in the Premiership signs a new 20-Year Contract

Has a club ever won the second-tier and the FA Cup in the same season?

Never; closest were West Brom as Second Division runners-up when they won the Cup in 1930-1

Other Cup winners from the Second Division* (with that season's Second Division champions identified in parentheses):

'79-80 WHU (Leicester)

'75-6 Southampton (Sunderland)

'72-3 Sunderland (Burnley)

'30-1 WBA (Everton, with Albion promoted as runners-up)

'11-2 Barnsley (Derby)

'07-8 Wolves (Bradford)

'00-1 Tottnum (Grimsby; *TH were non-league that season and stand as the sole winners from below the second tier)

'93-4 NottsC (Liverpool; County finished third, but promotion only went to the top two in the day)

Mr Angry Burnley have 2 games in hand on everyone else (why is that?? Anyone??)

I've been puzzled and vaguely irked by the same thing, and the answer that I've come up with has done nothing to amelior8 my incomprehension and annoyance

Burnley had been scheduled to play Coventry at home on Saturday 19th February (normal Championship programme that day; our guys drew with Watford at home right after we got news that it would be Everton whom we'd face on 1st March)

However, Burnley also had reached the Fifth Round and got West Ham away in the draw held on Sunday 30th January --so there was their Coventry match postponed

Subsequent to that --by Thursday 3rd February-- ESPN got Burnley's Fifth Round match with West Ham moved to Monday the 21st

As a consequence, Burnley's scheduled match with Boro at home on Tuesday the 22nd (full Tuesday programme in the Championship on the nite, upon which our guys beat Millwall) also got postponed

So it would appear that on account of their progression to the Fifth Round and the subsequent rearrangement of the match to Monday for TV, they got (not one but) two league matches postponed --and that the League didn't see fit to let the Coventry match go on for Saturday 19th February as originally scheduled and with better than two weeks of lead time

Great set of results for us today with Swansea, Forest, Leeds & Burnley all dropping points. If we win that game in hand then only 3 points off the play-offs.

If we win the next league game, it's definitely on.
