Hoop Blah The argument, if there is one, is that he wasn't perfect and his mistakes (which are understandable) are the reason he's still with us and not been taken from us like our previous best players like Doyle and Sigurdsson.

His "mistakes" being, according to this thread, putting in a cross after a 90 yard run that led to a goal only for some reason that isn't enough for Reading fans because it didn't directly lead to a goal. Even though there was little else he could do. Honestly, the mind boggles.

Maguire This board never fails to make me roll my eyes and smash my head into my desk.
Why on earth are we arguing about or even suggesting that Jimmy Kebe was something other than superb? He's just totally unplayable on days like that, yet apparently we're finding something to moan about after he's sprinted the length of the pitch, rinsed a couple of players and crossed for a goal?
You bunch of utter helmets.

royalexile Yeah but he has always had the inconsistency. Both frustrating and endearing.

Snowball Jimmy made, not surprisingly, the Championship Team of the Week
so did Marcus Williams!

's why i love him
when he on teh ball its always 50:50 whether he'll do something gobsmacking, or hilarious.

I agree with this. When Jimmy's on a roll no one knows what's going to happen next. Not even him, I suspect. It may be a super goal, it may be that he falls over the ball. But you never know what to expect. marvellous stuff.

Maguire You're not the only poster on this thread Hoop Blah, so don't think i'm directing all my comments at you.
But no, I don't think he's perfect. He has well documented limitations. But then, no footballer is perfect so if people want to come on the internet after he's had an absolute stormer and start picking apart every tiny little imperfection in his game (the cross that resulted in Hunt scoring for example, which wasn't even a mistake) then I reserve the right to sit here slapping my palm against my forehead and wondering if it's only Reading fans who are such complete nonces.

The guy is playing with more confidence enjoyment and desire than I have ever seen - he gets the crowd on their feet each time he gets the ball. He is lighting up every game he plays
And apparently this is not enough

Who said it wasn't enough?
If you read what I've posted I've said he had a good game but that some of his play showed why we've been able hold onto him despite him looking a class act at times.
I wonder how much some of you can actually read whilst maintaining a sense of perspective at times. Highlighting a passage of play where he didn't get everything right isn't being critical or pulling apart his performance, it's just pointing out a flaw/mistake which is why he's at this level.
