Says here that it was a free transfer. If so, that's two.

Shows what you can do with Russian oligarch's money when you do it the Reading way.

You use it to pay salaries.

Dare to Dr£am http://www.guardian.co.uk/money/2011/sep/09/jason-roberts-my-greatest-mistake?INTCMP=SRCH

Good read about how the older players have an important role to play.

The older player was...

Michael Gilkes, who was one of the most senior professionals at Wolves, took me to one side and asked why I was always late. I just didn't see it; if I had to be there at 9am, I'd time it so I arrived at 8.58am. Michael told me, "You're looking at it wrong. Why don't you try getting in at 8.15am, prepare, and then go into training and you'll never be late for the session?"

I hated it when he left us for Wolves. I could understand it, it was his big chance to get to the Premiership, Wolves? And Mark McGhee. I felt sick when he returned to Elm Park in the gold and black. Didn't we break his leg?

He broke his leg playing for us in Southend. About 10 ft from where I was standing.

I also knew the GP who was the emergency care doctor on the pitch

TBM Personally i think Church will benefit most from Roberts

Agreed, he might score a bit more playing in League 1 when he's sold.

Dare to Dr£am Didn't we break his leg?

We?

Mick Gooding nobbled him. Afterwards he was apparently asked why he went in so hard and I believe answered that he had to take him out as "we all know what Gilkes could do".

As far as I could tell, having only started going in '95, it was run really fast and then kick it off the end of the pitch or cross it into the stand.

Gilkesy's problem was that he ran so fast it cut off the blood supply to his brain.

What part of maintaining the wage structure do you not get?

With the departure of some of our player staff [via loans], its hardly going to result in any noticeable increase in expenditure.

Except at Wembley in '88 when Hicks went up to lift the Simod Cup

Isn't amazing how beating Luton doesn't have the same kudos it did then!

I take any negativity back. Roberts is a superb signing and is no way near past it.

And he was outside the box for the pen ........but who cares.

One of the best quotes by a mate at football that day ...... 'only 55 minutes to waste' when we went 2-1 up.

Given what I've heard from Charlie Nicholas this afternoon, you should take it back.

If he carries on playing like he did today, plus grows in match fitness, a real class signing! :D
