Timmy
Ark Royal Thanks for the mention. I have a lot of other stuff, but it is such a job scanning. Will get round to doing some more one day.

Agreed Ark. It's a pain scanning stuff. Like you I've got a few other things I'd like to share but I'm not sure that the interest is there enough for me to bother. Nice stuff you posted though.

Thanks. I will eventually scan all of my stuff. Some of the newspaper cuttings have just about had it.

BTW, that 1935 Arsenal programme is a gem.

Timmy Here you go Mr Spizz. Front and Back Cover of Steve's Testimonial. Not scanning the internal 22 pages, not sure there's the interest for one and secondly (relatively) modern programmes don't bend so well. As a bonus I've included a youthful Martin Allen appearance pictured centre as it was in the same box. 9 boxes down out of 10! Might do the Arsenal 1935 Cup game sometime too.

First game i ever went to as a kid
pretty much the last game I went to as one

Good stuff Spaghetti. Nice to see someone else contributing.

Here's a couple of pirate programmes from both of those games:

At least the above two pirates listed the teams. Here's a generic pirate I bought as a young schoolboy before the Sunderland FA Cup Replay in February 1973. I was actually quite excited that we'd apparently produced a different programme for this game so I spent 20p of my pocket money on two of them. I was a little miffed to find out it was an 16 page potted history of the FA Cup. Probably worth more in 1973 than it is now.

Not sure but I think it may have been a street off the Oxford Road that was lost to the IDR. Just a guess though.

TBH, was expecting your question to be about the 1 1/2d socks.

The 1926/27 programme is in my collection.
As you guys will know they played each other in 2 replays as well.
The programme shown here is from the first game at Reading

If you go to my flickr page at
www.flickr.com/photos/63580000@N04/sets you will find my Manchester United based collection.
If you go to the set marked 1926/27 you will also see scans of the programme from the replay at Old Trafford.
This has a match report of the first game and an action photo from the game at Elm Park

I have also posted a photo in the last couple of days(see the photostream) which has been identified by Chris Lee as probably the Manchester United team relaxing in Ascot before the 1912 cup match

I hope you find something that you enjoy

Yes, nice stuff. I've seen it before on the Programme Collector's forum. Didn't realise you were lurking here!

Cheers Timmy, and thanks to Ray Adler. I'd love to go back in time and spend an evening at the Palace Theatre, looked like a good programme. What on earth are 'The Daimlers, on wheels for laughing purposes only'?

Agreed. As we've discussed before the programmes are a social history. Wouldn't want to guess at what the Daimlers got up to or Collinson and Dean. "Mirth and Misery". Just like Hobnob.

I've been looking at old maps and still can't see it there. Interesting to see the amount of houses that got levelled to make the IDR.

Scutterbucketz Where is Cork Street?

I've found it on a map from 1931. It was actually where the Butts Centre/Broad Street Mall is now, so it would have disappeared in the early seventies.

Strange how it wasn't there before, but the town centre looks like a complete mess in the 1899 map.

I know, I think I looked at the same map. Could have been built in the early 20th century?
