According to twitter, Drenthe has been spotted in full kit at the KFC Drive Thru buying a mega bucket. He's not even in his car.

10 fouls given by the referee, 7 cards. Not my opinion, Sky's stats. That's a card nearly ever foul, which is ridiculous.

Other teams pass the ball so much better than us it's embarrassing.

If you look at each card individually they can all be justified.

Pearce was holding Ulloa every time the ball came in
Drenthe was booked for back-chatting after a series of dubious tackles.
Lualua chopped Karacan in two
Ulloa's foot was at Pearce's head hight
Pog slid in late and then dived
and Calderon stopped Karacan by fouling him when he was beaten for pace.

It's a nasty game where the ref's played a lot of advantages.

He only ate the skin. 12 pieces, mind. He's queuing for McDonalds now. This is madness!

Royal Lady When you're already on a yellow, the last thing you do is fall to the floor just to "accentuate" the point that a player was trying to pull you back - you stay on your feet at least. Not that he'll be letting the side down that much, I expect we'll have more shots second half than we had first half.

Just to be an annoying git, I'll pick you up on that.

The last thing you do is Dangerous tackles

The penultimate thing you'd do would be not to start on any players

Then you'd tone down generally rough tackles

Then you'd consider not talking back to the ref

Then you'd consider not pissing anyone off

Then you'd consider not doing a blatant blatant dive

---

The FIRST thing you'd do, especially when trying to impress the manager and fans at home after so much BS is spoken about you (from the likes of me for example) would be to try your damnedest to get stuck in up front to try and get a goal or some sort of advantage for your team.

Way way way down the list of things you would want to try and avoid would be making sure you don't give the impression that you were diving, bearing in mind the first thing you're trying to do above.

--

It's all very easy knocking the guy and I was IIRC one of the first on HNA to question Pogs signing in the Prem and get battered for it so I've no reason to defend him, but the poor lad merely tried a bit too hard and I feel sorry for him.

I'd rather a player tries hard with tackles, and getting us free kicks than not not bothering at all, which lets face it, is the main criticism directed at Pog in he champ.

The guy deserved the red but also was unlucky. I hope he'll come good and will continue to back him.

Yeah, and the irony is that we haven't "moved on" nearly enough.

Royalee This is without doubt one of the worst refereeing displays I've ever seen. He's already ruined the game, killed any flow it had and applied absolutely no common sense. If you're handing out yellows every time there's a challenge, you set yourself off to send multiple players off - this won't finish 10 v 10.

Strongly disagree. This game has been foul after foul since it started. Drenthe and Pearce are lucky to still be there. I think the ref's doing a very good job in a very difficult game to referee.

There have been 5 fouls apiece in the game according the Sky, yet there have been 7 cards so I don't care whether you agree or not because it's fact. Having refereed games myself, you have to manage a game properly which involves speaking to the players, letting the game flow and only using your cards when you have to otherwise you put yourself in a position where you have to give cards for anything out of consistency. The presenter's spot on when he says the ref's set a tone, he's set a tone whereby the game's being made non-contact. Awful, awful officiating.

Armchair referees are hilarious. What would you have done differently then? Told Royston 'í won't book you for that bookable offence this time, but don't do it again'? Pog commits a professional foul and then enacts simulation, what would you have done differently? Both are bookable and both were booked. If you let the game run it lets the game flow, but you can't do it at the expense of enforcing its laws when they are clearly breached or you risk on field anarchy.

Yeah I know, our fans are still utter morons with no patience - we haven't moved on in 4 years in that respect.

We look less likely to score from open play under Adkins than we did under BMac, and that's saying something.
