If Blackman is behaving petulantly again, is it time to start with Sá and Vydra up front, and maybe bring Blackman on up the middle in the second half? This assumes, of course, that the former two are both fit.

No.

I don't think looking a bit disappointed you weren't put through when you haven't scored in a few games is really petulant. Blackman's drop in goals seems to have coincided with our abandonment of the slick and impressive 4-3-3 of earlier in the season. Yet another reason to get Alex on the pitch and return to it.

Personally I thought it was petulant and certainly the reaction of a selfish player.
A selfish goal scorer what's new?, I hear you say?
I think it's ok to be upset you didn't get the chance to score but a team player would immediately forget it and celebrate the goal.
I wouldn't drop him but I would be a tad concerned.

This is crazy talk. Blackman is still one of our best players even if his goals have dried up for a few games. He gets involved; he tracks back and tackles; he shows better ball skills than any other player we have; he gives 100% for Reading FC. He has now come to the notice of other sides and they often target him physically (as Bolton did) or by putting 2 or more defenders to mark him. He must be one of the first names on the team sheet each game!

I think it is dangerous for us to sit in the stands and assume that from 100yatds away we can make accurate statements about a player's personality and attitude based on our interpretation of minor incidents. For every piece of damning evidence given about Blackman you could come up with examples of unselfish play, positive interaction with team mates and incidents where he has kissed babies and helped elderly ladies across the road.
He MAY be an arrogant, selfish misfit causing huge rifts in the dressing room, but I think we're basing that on pretty flimsy evidence.

We shall see
I know what I saw and it wasn't the action of a team player

Well you interpreted what you thought you saw, all that happened was he didn't join the dash to the corner flag. You are then adding a whole layer of your personal interpretation. Not sure what we shall see. Are you expecting to come out for the Forest game in a different shirt, or refuse to stand in the prematch line up with his 'team mates' ?
Why not judge him on the way he plays every week, which this season has certainly seen him working as part of the team.

Did you go on Saturday? or against Cardiff? His last few games have shown a side of him which isn't good for the team, Ronaldo like petulance, which he hasn't earned the right for.

And of course we all know what a disaster Ronaldo is for any team he plays for !
Obita, Mackie, Hector, Williams - they've all had their moments, some of them much worse than what Blackman is alleged to have done. People looking for a reason to have a go at him I think....
Did you go to all the games this season in which Blackman has been a key part of the team ? Far outweighs him seeming to not instantly join in a goal celebration.
