Sutekh
3points Assume we’ll have a recall option on Sam Smith for 1 Jan. going to need some extra cover unless there’s some transfers lined up for the start of the window

Loan move for Shane Long might be worth investigating.

McNulty and Baldock upfront would be worth a go surely.

If we played McNulty, I think Dundee United, The Scottish FA and the English FA would throw the book at us. Probably would see us docked enough points to relegate us this season.

If McNulty played, I'd throw a book at him:

I mean, he's done well in Dundee. 6 games, 0 goals.

I’d throw the book and then some more at Pauno if he did as well

Play Aluko or Semedo up front they are both tall lads that can put themselves about a bit.

Well, we need to consider the role McIntyre has been asked play in his fleeting sub appearances this season. I would suggest if we we’re going to stick anyone up top to hold the ball up, then he could probably do a job, with Olise in behind him. An interesting snippet from paunos’ post match interview when pressed on why Olise didn’t start was for him to perform he needs to have ‘certain players around him’ i.e a hold up player. Olise won’t be effective with baldock and aluko ahead of him.

yes please too.....but

He’s 33 now, and we’ve been bitten (by returning players before).

No time for sentiments in football nowadays obvs.

But yes...would be ‘a nice to see’ whilst Puscas, Jaou and Meite are out.

We’ve already tried McNulty and Baldock up front together a few years ago. It was a complete waste of time.

Smith, at least, is the right sort of player.

By the time Smith or McNulty could get recalled (even if they can) we’d have the opportunity to sign someone who might be championship quality

They shouldn’t even be part of the conversation

Not sure that’s true. They both started against Birmingham in the League Cup, signs of a partnership were there and was agreed among the consensus. After that, they only started one more game together (albeit a poor one). Not sure you can say we actually tried it given it was only used twice, one in which it was relatively successful

In saying all that, we’ve moved on past that now, and it’s not going to happen
