Well they weren’t making the team unfit to play 90+ minutes, utterly disorganised, lacking any plan whatsoever and completely failing in any game management.

On the board of directors?

Should have sacked the clown months ago.

And then themselves.

With Leon here.

People can say he was treated badly by the club and dealt a bad hand with the Joao and Meite injuries, but the obsessive zonal marking, 1 up front when chasing the game, ridiculously late subs, and all the other team failures are absolutely on him

If only there were some clues as to how this would end on Pauno’s arrival

This is a very interesting read in retrospect and well done to the Tilehurst End for spotting the risks!

It does seem that history has repeated itself and that he hasn’t learnt from his time Chicago Fire. That was his biggest failing. He didn’t learn from his mistakes. The number of goals we have conceded at the back post this season has been ridiculous.

The audio link describing his “motivational talk” is both  and

Yeah very spot on here:

This is a tricky one to answer as there was no clear style or identity to the team over his four years in Chicago, which was a constant source of frustration and criticism from the fans. He used many different formations over his 136 games, but his go-to was probably a 4-2-3-1 line-up, with two wingers in the three supporting the main striker. He liked to talk about a possession-based game, but regularly trailed in the possession percentages, even at home. His in-game decision-making and substitutions often baffled the fans too, while his reluctance to go for the jugular when one or two goals up often meant the Fire failed to close out games they should have won or drawn.

Very humble man.

I reckon he has been brought in because he has a magic wand, He will wave it and Ejari's injury will disappear and will play within a week. Hopefully it will also work on other injured players as well.

Pauno's last two clubs have something in common, and that is players complaining about the training, and loads of injuries. Hopefully that is something Gilkes and Ince will change immediately.

Snowflake Royal Yeah, worked out terribly didn't it.

We all know the owners are shit as well zip. Them being shit doesn’t make Pauno any less shit. They're both awful. You don’t have to pick one or the other, you can dislike both.

..and just because he's been shit doesn't mean you can't acknowledge that he's been treated poorly by the club.

Exactly.

For sure but the extent to which some have gone almost full circle with a Pauno circle jerk love in, is a bit much.

Paul Ince from a "recent interview":

"If you're an owner and said, 'listen Paul, you've got a three-year contract and three years to get where we want to get to. Don't worry about year one or year two, this is where we want to be after three years and if you haven't done that, then you've lost your job,' then I'll take it.

"If not, then I've got no interest."

So maybe more than interim?

He had to for all the reasons you listed yesterday. I just felt the club left him hanging for too long and could have given him a less painful exit. The last few weeks supporting this club have been miserable.

If the club says it's interim, then it's interim; but it is no doubt an opportunity for Ince to prove his worth and earn that 3 year contract.

And you don't need to feel sorry or make excuses for him to criticise the shoddy owners.

If he does well over the next few games then he may get until the end of the season. If at the end of the season we are safe and he seems a good fit then give him at most a two year contract. We shouldn’t be giving anyone a three year deal as none of them stay in the job that long these days.

Would Ince be able to tempt Moore back (and get him playing)?

Yeah +1. Regardless of the circumstances of him leaving, and he said she said, his performances have been utter toilet for a while. Couldn't organise a back line to save his life and his positioning was utterly diabolical. Before anyone gets all "we've hardly been good since he's left", I appreciate that, he's not the answer to our problems.

A Meite tweet or Insta, says thanks and goodbye to Pauno and his coaching staff. Sounds like they've all gone.
