Apparently had 10 shots on target in 5 games under Hunt. Says it all pretty much.

Ince was a problem but wasn’t THE problem. A poor set of players, esp once the injuries taken into account as well

The thing that really got me under Hunt, and I guess in general, was just how incredibly often players made poor choices taking massive swings at the ball from more than 20 yards. Especially when off balance.

It's just brain dead. And the senior players led the way on it.

We can't create a chance so I guess we'll just leather it and hope.

tmesis As this will almost certainly be 13 without a win, what is the club record?

I think the record is something like 18 games stretching over 2 seasons in the mid 70s? Be interesting to also know how many away games without a win (currently it’s 11 with 1 draw and 10 defeats)

The league record for consecutive games with no wins is 36 and is held jointly by Derby and Macclesfield so still quite some way to go for Reading.

Yeah, that's why I said club record.

15 rings a bell for some reason.

We were on 32 points on Christmas day we picked up 3 wins and 18 points in 23 games since then. still would have stayed up without the deduction, but the end of the day not good enough.

Checking out the closing periods of Stam, Pauno or Bullivant should find it.

Not even close for Stam or Paunovic.

We did collapse under Bullivant, but still won 2 of the last 17 (and lost the rest).

We did have a 13 game winless run just four months into Alan Pardew's first season in 1999/2000 though.

Noel Hunt revealed post match he’s not at all happy with Joao who apparently called him on Thursday to say he didn’t want to be involved today. Thank god Lucas won’t be here next season.

Shane Long retired too by the looks of it, a step too far I`m afraid.

So about the same contribution as last weekend then? Must win game against Wigan and he was dreadful. Didn’t look remotely interested

Another poor signing, 3 months here and there doesn’t cut it. Glad we’re shot of him

To be fair, he wasn't involved in a lot of the games he was selected for.

Presumably Joao was shocked that Hunt would want him involved at all given he's 100% leaving.

TBH, I can understand Joao's point of view. The team is down. The game is meaningless and he's without a team in a few weeks. The last thing he needsis an injury from being kicked in the air by a Warnock CB.

Same with Meite.

Presumably he'll still expect to be paid in full despite effectively going on strike

Meite didn’t look fit last week so fully understand him not playing . Shame he couldn’t get a farewell though, been decent for us over the years

I'm sure he can live without a day's pay.

Snowflake Royal Why the actual oxf*rd is Dann coming on.

Would guess he’ll retire now. Similar vein to bringing on O’Shea a few years on the last day of the season

Yes, we owe him nothing and he’s been a waste of time for us but wouldn’t begrudge him one final ten minutes after a respectable career
apparently (like O’Shea) more use behind the scenes / in the dressing room

Yeh, I know

He’s a weird one. Goals almost got us to the play offs and kept us up last year. Could be unplayable or terrible. Don’t think he could be classed as a poor signing with his record and actually thought he was ok last week in generally poor and negative performance by the team mind you

Can understand why Joao didn't play. Not sure he'd have been kicked by a Warnock Centre Half given his usual lack of effort to battle with defenders at the best of times.

Yeh but if this happened on Thurs it leaves a very bad taste.

If before the Hudds/Sheffield game he's basically saying he doesn't want to help the club have a chance of staying up... if after, ie 9.45 plus, to call Hunt so soon after we've been relegated is even worse....

Pleased he's gone
