Behindu IIRC Seol scored 3 more than Little.
Which unless you are using an especically primitive number system is way less than infinity !

????
little didnt score at all
= 0

seol scored 4 didnt he?

4 (or indeed 3)is infinately more than 0

using any kind of numbering system you like

....tsk, modern schooling eh!

No it isn't, it's 4 more. If you can specically quantify the difference then it is not infinite.

4 is 3 more than 1 so if glen had scored 1 seol would have scored 3 more goals

it is also 4 x 1, so if glen had scored 1 it would be 4 x as many

as glen scored 0

seol scored 4 more goals

but if 4 is 4 times as many as 1
it is infinitely more than 0

whatever you say.

But to describe it as infinitely more presents a situation that's not physically relevent.

(There's some maths here that I wish I could remember)

Utter gibberish.

4 is 4 more than 0 - that's easy, we aren't multiplying anything here it's a simple 'more than'.

So Glenn scored 0, Seol scored 4 and 4 is 4 more than 0.

Corky341 I think both Murty and DLC find it very frustrating playing behind him. During quite a few games I've seen both full backs receive the ball and have nobody up the wing to pass it to, as Seol hasn't made any sort of run up field.

Having said that I'd like him to stay and push John Oster for a place.

yes

he come close to receive the ball

meaning that they dont hump it aimlessly up the wings in hope
and are more likely to retain the possession, even if the speed of our breaks do suffer

That's true. I hate the way Glen Little legs it up the wing making room for Murts to either counter attack quick or play a square ball in to the midfield. I much rather watch Murts get frustrated and slow play down until Seol has decided what to do.

i also prefer to watch little play, to almost anyone in the world!
i wouldnt dfream of ever saying differently

but.............
seol offers something different, that could see us retain possession more in tight games, and is therefore important in having a good blend of players in the squad

How many times did Murts and Seol actually play on the left at the same time last season ?
Not too many I suspect (until proven wrong by someone who can be bothered to look up the stats !).

And for the record I believe Glen Little is the equal best ever player to play for Reading (with Darius - Wdowcjek not Henderson !). I don;t care hwo much the season ticket goes up as long as we get 30 games a season of Glen on the wing !

Good spot and I  without delay !

Maybe there was just one game where Shorey took a corner on the right and Murts covered him on the left whilst Seol was standing in for Hunt ?

Or maybe I was just thick and should have said RIGHT !!!!!!!!

brendywendy and another thing(im angry now)

the more i think about it, the more im convinced its just plain racism

I kinda thought that at first too brendy. But from what I understand, there is always one whipping boy that Reading fans pile on. And that has happened year after year. It's just Seol's bad luck that he was that target this year. Now it might be easier to make him the whipping boy because of his race, or because of the large transfer fee or because he looks like he is not giving 100% effort. Whatever the case is those of us who are Seol supporters will just have to put up with it. The good plays are quickly forgotten, the bad plays will be scrutinized over and over again. The good news is that Reading finished 8th in the prem and Seol was as big a part of that success as Little or Hunt or Oster. And hopefully Seol will help push us to Europe next season and a new whipping boy will emerge! :P

It's not.

You change your assumptions half way through and are mixing two quite distinct concepts.

I'm trying to remember the phrasing but that assumes (and correct me if I'm wrong) that the numbers are in some way equal.

Although x/0 = inf, you cannot simply multiply out by 0. Inf*0 is an indeterminate amount. Simply multiplying out would give inf*0 = x, which would then, iirc, make every number equal every other number due to some property of the equals sign.

In some mathematics, inf*0 actually equals 0.

thats not really th ecast iron proof i was after now is it

but sod it, who cares, i wasnt making any deep metaphysical point

just using the example of goals scored to compare little and seol
with trying to make blinkered, narrow minded people that he wasnt so awful last year

be it 4 times more, or infinitely more, its not really the important point.

i could take the word infinite out of my original post if it means we can go back to talking about football rather than the relative merits of different concepts of infinity, and how they can be used in simple mathmatical equations

in which case i change my wording from

"seol would set up just as many, as well as score infinitely more"

to

"seol would set up just as many, as well as score 4 more than the 0 that glen scored"

hows that?

my apologies
