Barry the bird boggler The other thing is that even if we'd offered something unless there was the liklihood of him playing regularly in the first team, leading up to the Euro finals, we'd be unlikely to persuade him to come here. Perhaps that element is something Lazio can offer.

ALOL @ a keeper being good enough for Lazio's first team but not good enough at Reading.

And he's going to be in Lazio's first team is he?

Let me see, we had a player here on trial and now he's gone elsewhere. Your vast knowledge and experience of the game tells you the club has made a giant cock up. do you really know anything, really anything at all about this player, AP?

Nope, I was responding to the quote, 'He may have been offered a first team spot at Lazio, something we couldn't offer him'

How in the hell can someone be good enough to play for Lazio but not good enough to play for Reading????!

Archie's penalty
Wycombe Royal
Alan Partridge Which if true makes it very annoying that we didn't attempt getting this guy in. If a club of that size wants him then he must have something about him. Shame.

How do you know we didn't?

But Lazio or Reading? Tough choice.

Good point.

You can normally tell when you have made a good point that disagrees with something AP has posted because he doesn't reply.

So who's Lazio's first choice? Maybe he's injured and they need a quick replacement. Maybe they have a "keeper crisis". Honestly, this thread is turning well daft.

Get a new board in and you can guarantee some people on here will be calling it shit and booing it before it's had a chance to settle in and acclimatize to the Hob Nob way of playing.

That's the 'Reading way' 8)

Just don't like this 3 quotes only thing.

Trying to reply to a point and it won't let me because it has 3 (relevant) quotes in it.

Ignore button = 8) 8)

I can't believe he's only been offered 7 grand a week.

I thought it was agreed on here that any half decent new players are supposed to on at least 40k

I knew someone would take what I wrote the wrong way. The Polish article said that he wanted at least 7k a week salary and that he wouldn't go to Korona Kielce (a Polish club) cos they couldn't afford that. It didn't say that we didn't offer him that. We probably offered him an awful lot more and then Lazio came in with an offer. Come on he wasn't going to turn down Lazio over us was he???

From what I understand the new board is on trial at the moment. It is also being looked at by Lazio and Boca Juniors current fans sites. It will wind up staying with whoever is more likely to give it a good run in. With Spacey on here we offer as much use as almost any other fan site, so keep your fingers crossed. Meanwhile the old board is having a whinge at the lack of loyalty shown by Graham and the hobnob massive.

From Sky sports website:

Meanwhile, Polish goalkeeper Wojtiech Kovalevski is no longer training with Reading and is set to join an Italian team.

That wasn't a pop at you're comment, more at the people that keep saying we can't attract decent players because they'll be demanding 40k a week and it'll up set the dressing room.

It does look like Lazio have a mixed bag of keepers, it'll be interesting to see if they really are the Italian club that's come in for him.

The Polish website says that Lazio's main keeper is Marco Bellotta who is 44 years old! They have been trying to replace him with a 23 year old Argentinian goalkeeper Pablo Carrizo but they are having problems with his work permit. If he doesn't get one then Kowalewski will be in. Anyway it doesn't matter anymore he won't be a Reading player anyway!

I take your point regarding decent new players having to be offered huge wages though. The Kowalewski saga proves that you don't have to pay that high to get quality...
