IMAMATEOFJOVSKY Harper - bloody awful.......for the countless time this season

More worrying is that hes captain and when we need leadership when we are in a battle, Harper is the last person who would provide that - give captaincy to Ingimarsson and get haprer out and Cisse/Bryn in - Ive always said Harpers a liability and over-rated, and he doesn't fail to show that!

Not sure why you think Harper is the last person to provide leadership when we're in a battle.

From outside the dressing room he always comes accross and the most positive, upbeat, passionate of all out players. He's the one your most likely to see not giving up and playing to the final seconds and he seems well liked and respected by the other players.

He might not be in the best of form, although I think he does a good job, but I can't see why you'd question his leadership.

mg1976royal Kebe scored

Midfield awful

Marek the only midfield player that deserves any praise.

A bad game but still a long way to go this season. Bring on Cardiff.

Must be time to start Marek.

winchester_royal I'm suprised no one has mentioned N Hunt's shocking ball to Shunt in the first few mins of the match, he just had to pass it across the box lightly in front of Steve and he had a tap in to the open net. But instead he plays it behind him the prat.

I was right behind the goal and it looked like he could have still tapped it in but took a first touch which it didn't look like he needed to take.

We were right alongside it, and it was a bad ball and a great clearance off the line by the Saints defender from Doyle's follow-up.

It was behind him and slightly too slow, so he had to turn away from goal.

By the way, I take it all those moaning about the lack of songs are regularly trying to start their own.

RRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
get out!

lost count of the number of times ive sat singing with the people around me, while all around is a sea of crossed arms, and thoughtful faces,i lose the will to live.
only banter from the yoofs behind me making me laugh keeps me from slitting my wrists in most games.
started the usual club songs, started songs of our own, even tried some disney songs for the kids.
nothing.and then they have the cheek to boo and leave early.for shame i say

rosi, stretch, bikey -4
nuff said, god knows what happened there
harper, shunt 4- both ran about lots, harper did nothing, hunt gave the ball away ran down blind alleys and ran into their defenders all day, again-is january on these twos minds? playing like that we wouldnt even miss them.
cisse-6 only man to be putting tackles in, but gave the ball away for one of their goals
kebe-6 gave it away too often, but was our only creative outlet, nice goal

Nhunt,5 inneffective for two games now- lita back??!!
doyle 6-worked hard, with no service, but missing the header at the end was nothing short of a crime

marek, some great stuff under pressure on the ball, but also wasteful with his passing, probably trying too hard to wrestle the match mack in our favour
gunnar-innefective-karacan would have been better
long-innefective again

Our midfield looks a lot less effective without Karacan.
Harper was shocking, and not for the first time this season, at home too.

Yep, it was truly shocking at Bramall Lane and Ashton Gate.

There's less eneregy in the midfield. Karacan has a greater engine that all of our midfielders. Also a good passer of the ball and he gets into great positions on the pitch. He should be ahead of Gunnarsson for a start!

I'd like to see Karacan back too. I miss his energy at hassling the opposition.

Karacan and Marek for me.

no, slightly tongue in cheek, but it wasnt just the lack of goals, it was the lack of anything at all in teh last two games for me.

jack_symmons can anyone explain Harpers reason for being on the pitch ?
doesnt make any defence splitting passes and constantly passes it sideways,...get marek in there when he's 100% fit

anyone agree ?

Coppell is loyal to players that have been with the club for ages. No matter how poor they are.

Football involves much more than defence splitting passes and passing forward.

im not saying it doesnt...i would just like to know what his purpose is on the pitch when he does nothing. who would you rather ?...matejovsky who likes to get at teams and looks to create chances on goal or harper who flaps his arm around like a chicken trying to fly and passes is sidewards for 90 minutes ?

i can understand that, but id still rather matejovksy just because he gives us as a team something totally different to harps
