CMRoyal We've spent more in the 3rd tier than any other though. Which was kind of my point, illustrated by the fact that we have started heading back there now that our benefactor has hit financially straitened times.

That may be so (that we've spent more time in the 3rd), but it doesn't mean it's our "natural position". I don't believe that there is a "natural position" in football.

I'm sure you're right but it sure doesn't feel like that at the moment.

Don't mind me, I'm just on a downer after last week's high - I'm sure I'll get over it after a couple of league wins.

Let's hope those wins come soon!

The relegation battle is going to become increasingly gruesome from here on, as the number of games remaining diminishes. We need to be out of it pretty quick, or things will become desperate. Relegation fighting teams often get better results in the later part of the season, without necessarily any impact on their league position (because the others are doing the same). It's no good trying to save ourselves by the odd point, because someone is bound to go on a Fulham-like run.

Going into a relegation battle with a load of kids isn't the best idea either.

Griffin could prove to be a significant signing once he gets himself match sharp.

ffs you people need to get a f*cking grip on reality. We have the chief scout in charge (and not an extremely experienced and reasonably successful manager) he's a nice guy - granted. But we are massively in the sh*t - there's a definite gap developed.

We don't need nice guys - we need someone who knows what they are doing and can get the team doing exactly that. I honestly believe Madejski has f*cked us this season by cutting back too much.

Fulham had two of their best players out long term injured and their climb coincided with their return to fitness.

Can you name two players who've been out for ages that could turn our season around?
Actually I think I could, but I don't expect to see either of them play for us again this season, if ever.

Who gives a stuff about where we are today, all that matters is where we are at the end of the season.

Erm, you seem to have forgotten that he also was the reserve team manager who won the reserve league, so you saying he's not experienced or successful is bollocks. Ok, being the reserve team manager isn't really the same thing, but he does have experience of managing a team.

Why should we we care about where we are today? Because only a fool would deny that where we are today will have some influence on where we are at the end of the season!

They say you should learn from history. What a shame that Madejski, his disciples and the RTGs seem incapable and/or unwilling to learn from our recent history.

Since when has Marek been out long-term injured?

I was thinking Hunt and Armstrong. Chris may not be as adventurous or quick going forward as Bertrand but he knows his defensive duties and is unlikly to get caught out in the defensive line playing people on half has much, or leave people free at the far post. He would also add some much needed experience.

There is no doubt tht Noel Hunt has been a massive miss for us this year, an instinctive goalscorer who without doubt would have bagged a few so far, the problem being that we knew he wasout for the year very early on and we have done nothing to fll that void, andit wouldn't appear we are going to. I know we have signed Thorvaldson, but we needed a penalty box poacher from very early on and this massive lack of forsight has and will cost us dearely.

Don't you just love the way that when someone says "we could stay up" they get called an RTG and need to get a grip on reality, and yet when someone says "we will go down" then that's all fine and dandy...

End of the day it's someone's opinion, something we're all entitled to - I'm just amazed at the level of abuse people get for trying to air theirs!

Was it Harris being told to belt up again? Someone gave him some lip at P'boro second half iirc.

Nah not Harris as that would probably have developed into a full blown fight.
