Ian Royal Defensive Midfield: Tabb, Gunnarsson, Karacan & Howard*

*Howard can also play the more attacking role fairly well.

Thanks for reminding us that you don't know what you're banging on about.

Howard IS NOT a defensive player - he was bilge in that holding role Rodgers had him in. Yet he shone when MaccieD put him where he should have been all along.

I don't like the way the shirts look like they've been badly photoshopped. The silly white lines in the blue hopes and the white bits inside the black lines containing the blue hoops.

It could have been a fantastic kit if they hadn't tried to be all trendy with it. It almost like somepne did a quick 5 minute mock up on MS Paint and they forgot to refine the design before making it.

RZR - Every time I saw Howard under McD, bar the first few games, he was playing the pivotal workhorse role in the middle. Sigurdsson was the attacking one, Tabb/ whoever the more traditional one. You're quite right that it wasn't a traditional defensive role, but out of the two options it was much more defensive, and seemed certainly to me, to fit into a 4-2-3-1 as one of the two.

And Rodgers certainly played him in an attacking role early on, where he was at his absolute worst for the club.

For once, I agree with Ian

Under McD the tactic seemed/seems to be to get the ball front from back to front ASAP and have Tabb and Howard running round like loons collecting the scrap balls and starting attacks again

How many times does something have to be denied before people accept it.
McAnuff has said he know nothing and the club say there has been no contact.

That tends to happen when a player leaves a club...

Howard takes the vacated 20 shirt. The FTSE has also dropped by 5 points. Highest new entry this week is Squeeze with 'Hourglass'.

Wishfull thinking m9. As long as that back the boys and make some noise/who wants pizza bloke is there with the mike the number 13 thing will continue.

If I became a billionaire overnight and was able to afford to buy JM out the first thing I would do as chairman is sack the PA man, second thing would be to stop those kids waving embarassingly cheap Reading FC flags at the players as they exit the tunnel, especially the away suporters kids who shouldn't be forced to touch a rival teams colours, never mind wave them enthusiastically. Third thing would be to sack the kit designers and bring back a no nonsesnse blue and white hooped shirt with a collar..
