Platypuss Forbes disagrees:

http://www.forbes.com/teams/houston-texans/

What's your source?

I admit that sounds more positive than the sentence I read (I've been a few McNair articles earlier, mainly trying to establish if he actually was interested in buying a club so I can't source the exact one.) so what does that make the team's debt??? 13% of value I think it said, is that 13% of the $1.4B value of the franchise?

Just looked a bit deeper into that $600M debt thing:

"His stake in Houston Texans is worth $630 million net of debt."

Puts a slightly different complexion on things wouldn't you say?

Please clarify, worth x amount of debt does not mean alot to me :?

I am taking it to mean that $630M of his holding is his, whereas the remainder is presumably still owed to someone.

Means his stake is worth $630 million before any debt doesn't it?

Isn't it the other way around?

So even after debts are settled he would have something worth $630M?

And overall his net worth is meant to be $1.8 Billion.

Mind you, don't the Yanks have smaller billions than us, so a bit pf a pauper really!

Yes, assets less debt. The value of his holding after the affect of debt.

All billions are the same now,
1. (Mathematics) one thousand million: it is written as 1 000 000 000 or 109
2. (Mathematics) (formerly, in Britain) one million million: it is written as 1 000 000 000 000 or 1012
Still adds up to a lot of dosh

I won't believe any of this until Madejski comes out and clearly states that this really is the dream ticket for Reading Football Club......................

Probably good, as he seems to be worth shitloads even if the Texans tanked overnight.
