Alexander Litvinenko "Permission to talk" is just that, though, and might be triggered by a "Premier League" clause in Poyet's contract.
He might not be offered what he wants, or Reading might quail at the compensation cost of getting him to break a 5-year contract.
Then again he might just be doing what McDermott did with Wolves last year, and using the interest of another club to negotiate a better contract package where he is - without any intentions of actually leaving.
