Shane just got smashed by Hutton :|

Gets subbed, and is swapping words with Villa fans as he walks off... bad day at the office for Longy.

It maybe a bad day at the office for Shane, but at least he managed to get away early.

Bad news for Irish hopes of qualifying for the Euros.

Yep, Alan Hutton singlehandedly screwed the Irish out of the Euros.
Just seen the tackle on SSN, what a disgusting challenge.

McLeish's defence seemed to be that once Hutton had launched himself off the ground it would be unfair to expect him to be able to control the severity of the assault in Long.

Broken bone is better than knee ligaments ?

Isn't that why launched tackles are supposed to be instant red cards?

Yes. We want compo off Hutton and Villa as Long won't be getting the goal-scoring and League position targets that entitle us to an enhanced transfer fee that will allow us to buy another striker

Yes. It's also why it's not supposed to matter whether you connect with the player or take the ball cleanly. You still get a red, a la Gunnarsson.

Yeah, we never once mentioned Doyle or SHunt or Sidwell or Harper or Mills
after they left us.

Far too grounded and sensible to potentially ruin his career by moving to a "big" club when it's far too early. Give it until then end of 12/13 at WBA at least I think.
