Ok, Omani name incorrect (source on the sauce!). My bad for not double checking. Omani is on Omani FA board but ISN'T Sk Kalifa, who is UAE. Lead of consortium is on the Omani FA board and is a Prince, not a Sheikh, unfortunately not sure on the name though.

LOL.. it's almost like you are making this up

Could be this guy then - President of Oman FA and a name not so dissimilar to the incorrect UAE one - Khalid bin Hamad bin Hamood Al-Busaidi

Adds up.

Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi was born in 1960 in Muscat, Oman and is the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the rank of minister [1] in the Sultanate of Oman.[2] Sayyid Badr has represented Oman in regional and international meetings, which include the United Nations.[3]

He's also head of their version of the BBC from what I can gather. Or a very very similar name is.

Busy guy.

Not convinced.

Not sure if that link works but the clue is that he got an MBA from Henley College. This means when he takes over there will be a back story about when he studied at Henley he used to stalk the South Bank in his Doc Martens and fell in love with the place.

Omani TV simply has a presenter reading out the various members of the Royal Family's engagements that day in my experience. Amazing scenes.

What no one has mentioned is that this is really the first time ownership may change completely for 23 years or more.

With the TSI era SJM remained integral to the organisation, so there was minimal change.

He's unlikely to remain around as long this time.

Big changes ahead, I expect the fickles on here to be looking back nostalgically to these days of openness and community in a couple of years

One thing that concerns me is that Madejski was waiting for years for an owner with deep pockets to come along, and now they're coming along like buses.

Is he so desperate to sell that he has lowered his standards?

I suspect that the likes of Samuelson has brought in a fair few more contacts that would have been available to the club before TSI came in, and also the moves the club have recently made to expand their international presence may also have helped.

There has been interest in the past, most notibly from Carson Yeung when we first won promotion to the Premier League, but Madejski obviously felt none were suitable (and thank god he turned Yeung down!). The problem now is that he can't afford to run the club any more, and sadly that means he has to take a chance on a new owner. It's a murky world we're in now. Now we just have to hope for the best!
