Snowball Sonko Superman before his injury, Ivar at his peak.

Can you seriously compare that to Mills and Pearce?

no, but you didnt ask me to when you said:
no club can go a whole Championship season
without four recognised, up-to-standard Centre-Backs and expect to do well.

so im just telling you you are wrong. its for your own good.

and sonko was superman after that season. before it, he was 50p head, nothing more.
and wasnt ivar a free from wolves, so we were hardly pulling up any trees there either

Agreeing with you BW

But that season and lack of injuries is exceptional.

I doubt any manager wants to have less than 4 CBs

WITHOUT slagging off Alex Pearce, ie presuming he IS good cover, no club can go a whole Championship season
without four recognised, up-to-standard Centre-Backs and expect to do well.

106 points with Ivar and sonko only

not saying its idealm, or that it will happen again.
just attempting to give some balance

I agree with you to an extent. But even though we appear to have 3 centre backs now as opposed to 2 actually we are worse off because ivar is older and pearce is poo and back in 05/06 bryn was probably a yard faster and we had at least one academy back up in peter castle - now we appear to have none.

Maybe it's not as bad as I seem to think but it does appear to me to be worse than 05/06 - I will happily admit I might be wrong about this.

And Sonko & Ingi didn't keep getting red cards (obviously)

Though I hope Mills will get more sensible with age, he's still (presumably) a likely disciplinary problem

I think, in the short/medium term that lowers his worth.

Wycombe Royal So Hull can potentially find the money to sign Robert Koren (his wages won't be that cheap and nor will the signing on fee) but they can't afford to pay us for Hunt.

THe sooner the FL place immediate transfer embargoes (loans and frees included) on clubs who default on transfer payments to other clubs the better.

Not sure how they have done it, but Hull have got round it by passing the transfer debt onto a financial compay, who Hull are now not paying, so they are not paying us. So according to the rules, Hull dont owe us the money. I have no idea how this work.

Back on topic. I remember the good old days when signing a Prem reserve on a free wasnt considered a massive risk....

brendywendy and one last word on royalee.

still thinks brendan rodgers is one of the best managers weve had, and wishes he was still here.

the end.

No, I just think he was pretty hard done by given the state of the club when he took over and the lack of time he had. You're probably too high as a kite to notice the difference between the two though.

Horsham Royal Oi, De La Cruz wasn't that bad ...

in fact not bad in any way whatsoever

royalee=spasmo

West Brom have gone up and signed the likes of Shorey, Wolves went up and signed Doyle and when we went up we signed...Alan Bennett and De La Cruz.

Once were Biscuitmen We are a well run club

No, we really aren't. We signed next to nobody when we went up, sold over £15 million's worth when we went down and somehow worked out poorer than we were in the first place which means either money's being taken out of the club or we're negotiating ridiculous wages for very average players...or as is more likely the case, both. What part of that is being well-run? How do we somehow work out poorer after all the money which has come in...and before anyone pipes up, the academy was there long before we went up and the media suite didn't cost any more than a million or two tops.

BECAUSE we had an excellent team when we went up. Other clubs start behind where we were as we had such a good record breaking team to begin with, yet somehow we ended up with a weaker team in our second Premiership season than the one we went up with. Go figure.

Lee, we had debts of several million in the form of loans from the bank when we came down from the Prem.

Now we have no debts.

Technically we are better off for those premiership years.

To be honest, I hate the think what kind of state we'd be in if we didn't get promoted when we did. It was timed pretty well considering.

Are we really saying that if we pay Blackburn what they want for Zurab then we'll go into administration next year? What I'm saying is that if we are so well run and our finances are in such a stable condition how come other clubs can afford to buy players - or are they all going to go bust later in the year...

If Zurab was on absolute megabucks at Blackburn we wouldn't have been able to afford him last season AND he wouldn't want to leave to come here?

It's funny, we didn't hear anything about those massive debts and loans before we went up...I thought we were well-run?

i dont think 15-25 kpw was too much to pay our prem players, certainkly at the low end of the league spenders.

just read the accounts. its pretty clear there.
