To be honest, I'd see a repeat of last season. Great run of form from now until the end, with good football if we get going. An epic semi-final victory and a day out to Wembley. It would be worth it, and this time we'd have the resources to keep our squad together.

Obviously I'd rather 2nd or see us win the play-offs. But I see comments like "I'd rather finish 7th" or "I wouldn't go to Wembley". Seriously? If you can't relish a trip to Wembley then I don't know why you follow football.

Yeh, Stuart Atwell has been demoted...if we go the other way we will never have the embarrasment of ghost goals again!

IN! For Wembley

BBC Predictor had us going to Brum on last day in first- and finishing second....well a girl can dream.

Extended-Phenotype No, I shoot at him with a rifle. Fortunately for him, I’m as bad a shot as he is.

So is ALF.

Well, to be fair to ALF his riffle does have a crooked barrell and he's only aiming at Church's feet.

Silver Fox West Ham are the class act in this division but, even without a ream of snowstats, they surely can't sustain their form if they keep getting players sent off

Another win, another red last night

Percy's Rocket OK Team

This is what to do

1) Avoid defeat at West Ham , Saints and Brum - 3 points

2) Win the last seven home games - 21 points

3) Win four of the other 6 away games - 12 points

TOTAL 87 points..that should just about do it.

4) Hope that two of the three teams in 1) go on a bad run and get less than 30 points in 15 games.

SIMPLES

1) can afford to lose one of these now
2) achieved I think or at least three wins and a draw
3) can afford to lose one of these now
4) ACHIEVED JUST ABOUT..too many home draws for hammers in spite of the unbeateb run.

TWO WINS MIGHT JUST DO THIS NOW...THREE AND WE ARE THERE OURS TO LOSE OMG

Just to be clear, you're saying six more points will be enough
So WH will get no more than 9 from their six games

I said might...

They look to be wobbling..it might just be....results go all over the place in this final phase..always have done

but I think three wins will be enough.

Barnsley v West Ham
West Ham v Birmingham
West Ham v Brighton
Bristol City v West Ham
Leicester v West Ham
West Ham v Hull

You'd have to back them getting at least 4 wins there. Birmingham will be a tricky game and Hull away last game surely will need the points for the playoffs. They should beat Brighton at home.

Allumpitforwardadyce wants 6 wins! I can't see that happening.

Nobody who was at Brentford would agree with that. 8)

3 wins will do it. Given West Ham's poor form, even we were generous & gave them an average of 2 ppg for the last 6 games, 9 pts from us is then enough to take 2nd by 1 point.

3 wins & 1 draw would 100% be enough.

Agreed. If we win our home games that should be enough but I expect we will get some points from our away games as well.

I'm unfortunately rather busy from now till the end of the season through work and commitments to friends and family. Can only make Palace at home, so I'm desperately hoping that's the day.

Before yesterday, I said on another thread that we needed at least 1 win from our away games; we have that now. As long as we win our 3 home games (no easy feat with Forest coming into some super away form at the moment) that would leave West Ham needing 13/14 points from their last 18 to overtake us (GD being the unknown) even if we were to fail to take any other points away....

As West Ham still have to play both Brum and Brighton at home, I can easily see them struggling to achieve that total.

Bristol City won't be easy - in drop zone now so any thing could happen.

Leicester away tricky as well

I would really like to just get the pressure off & win the next 3. Mind you if we do that we might well end up champions.

We would be top. Incredible.

Still one game at a time - WNG is all I want to think about really. Lets not get carried away. Would be a real shame if we didn't capitalise on such a great win yesterday by then screwing up the next one. I'm sure Brian won't let them do that. He immediately said it's just another 3 points in the post match interview which is exactly the right thing to say.

Posted this (prob makes more sense here) elsewhere but Friday is a frankly massive game.

Over Easter we play before Soton and W.Ham in the first game and last on the second (W.Ham & Soton play Monday).

If we win, we'll put the pressure on Soton result on Sat by being top. Lose or draw, W.Ham could get a lift and leave us 3rd before we kick off at Brighton on Tuesday night.

How can WHU leave us 3rd exactly? We are 4 points ahead. Or am I missing something here?

We don't win on Friday at 2pm - best lead is 5 pts. West Ham beat Barnsley (5.15ko) and then beat Brum at home on Easter Monday. We kick off at Brighton the next day 1 point behind them.

Win and no worries.
