Decent goal that

Indeed, but terrible defending to let him stroll in like that. If he can stay injury free he could get a chance next season. He looked very good against QPR last week as well.

Unlucky Niall Keown.
Adkins said post match that he had picked up an injury training with the 1st team.
I imagine he may well have been our defender on the bench had he not got injured.

Hector has told Charles Watts's he wants to achieve his aims with us. Would be happy to come back in January, but wants first team assurances. Can see him staying at Aberdeen until the end of the season personally.

The Aberdeen bossman said this will only happen in Hector signs a new deal with us first as his current one is due up in the summer (worryingly)

Hector is in a good bargaining position, Aberdeen will probably take him full time if he runs his contract down, but I imagine we'll only extend the loan if he signs a new contract...

choices, choices...

Why "worryingly"?

Because he's an excellent young defender who's attracting plenty of interest and we may struggle to keep hold of him without first team assurances, assurances which we probably aren't in a position to make.

Anyone having to threaten to move to oxf*rd Aberdeen is in a pretty shitty bargaining position IMO.

If we want to keep him it's a good bargaining position, he pretty much has a guaranteed job at the end regardless and he's well within his rights to ask Aberdeen for their terms, or other clubs.. which we wuld have to match or beat.

The youth cup game away at Leeds is on friday the 13th ( :o ) so anyone travelling up a day early to the Huddersfield game may fancy making the short trip across Yorkshire to watch the young-uns in action at Elland Road. 7pm kick off. Got some family who are Leeds fans so I'll be there reporting live for hobnob.

Yep, hopefully we'll progress a little further in it this year than we have done in the last couple. When you add in the senior scholars (Kuhl, Kelly, Fosu, Stacey) that have been turning out for the U21's along with the guys who've been doing pretty well in the League this season we should have a pretty decent team.

Problem is the opposition always seem to have one amazing player that wins it for them

He's in talks about a new contract at the moment, wants to achieve his goals here and doesn't seem to be particularly enjoying how far away Aberdeen is (although he is enjoying the first team football and does seem to like the club/have settled in with the team). I doubt if he can't agree a new deal (unlikely) he'll end up outside of England.

I've not managed to get along to any of the youth games so far this year (living outside of Reading/work meaning I can't do evenings). From the little I've seen so far it doesn't sound like we're doing quite as well as last season, yet, esp. with the u18s?

They're doing okay. Midtable, have won more than they've lost (just). If you look at the side it's often full of first year scholars with the likes of Kuhl and Fosu being kept fresh for the U21's so it's not been a write-off season by any means.

My feeling is that our failure to sign any central defensive cover is becuase of Hector's progress in Scotland. I wouldn't be surprised to see him stay with us after January...

Yep, he needs to start somewhere, however it would mean him foregoing regular 1st team turn outs as he won't start ahead of Morrison, Pearce or Gorkss so long as they're not suspended or fit. However if he got one chance and was outstanding he may get to keep his place but it's about getting that debut. FA Cup perhaps....

I'd have thought he's devestated that he still has a month left on his loan. Now would be a great time for him to be back here. Morrison won't be back for a while, one knock to Pearce or Gorkks and he's got a month to show what he can do. Even if fit I'm not sure Gorkks is a definite starter if we had any options....

Shepherd Murombedzi has gone to Bognor Regis Town for a month.

(already mentioned on loan watch)
