He's like Darren Caskey but minus the free kicks.

mr_number I'm really amazed that people are still backing him at this stage. I'd prefer to pay off his contract and tell him to fvck off than have him hanging around and doubling the club's spend on food for the players next season as well

I'd prefer RFC held onto the cash to pay their current squad and gain any interest rather than hasten our financial woes. In the meantime his "career" can continue to go down the pan as he sits at home, banned from the training ground and eating all the pies.

He can join the queue of creditors if it all goes tits up because of his wages

None of you attend training. None of you see know how much effort he puts in. None of you know what his wages are.
I don't know any of this either, except an inkling on his wages (around 25k).

Most of you should know that he's quite clearly not fat, and is in decent shape, tries his best when he's played, wants to please the fans and has the skill.

He may have had a very poor season, and be on relatively large wages, but to attribute all of that to him despite his clear reasons otherwise is a bit distasteful.

If he stays, back him, hope we play him, let him show us what he truly can do and then, when he's had a half a season or so without all this nonsense we can truly judge him.

History suggests that he has his demons and can't control them at every one of the clubs he's gone to in the past.

Ultimately he's just not good enough

I saw Royston in Burger King yesterday.

He was buying two £3.99 king of the days, so maybe he's not on as much as we thought. Or maybe the Whopper is his favourite and it was a coincidence it was Wednesday.

I thought we'd bought another Mass Sarr-but to be fair to the guy when he does come on -he does put in a shift-just that everything he tries -just doesn't work.

Somewhere along the way through various Clubs/Injuries/Personal demons his ability has just gone.

Exactly, he can do it, is more than able but either others don't think on the same level or he is just too selfish, tries to do it all and consequently you end up with a headless chicken.

Ability gets you a shot at showcasing it.
From then on it's about application to your craft.
Some people, when thrust into the relative limelight, and given the trappings of relative wealth, can handle it.
Others can't.

In the many years that I have followed RFC, in terms of the most naturally gifted players I have seen that we have produced:
Number One: Gylfi Siggurdsson
Number Two: James Lambert

Extended-Phenotype Maybe he would have if the message wasn't "f/ck off, Royston"

Personally I think we'd have been better off giving the guy a chance to flourish and put him in the window, rather than telling him to sod off and leaving him out in the cold.

Who is going to want him now?

Hate to break this to you but................

no one fcuking wanted him hence why we managed to get him.

And why the hell would we continue to start him when he has done the square root of fcuk all since joining? What sort of message does that send to players who actually look after themselves & are professional?!

There are / were videos on Instagram of him drinking, smoking shisha, getting wasted with his mates at casinos prior to matches. How can anyone continue to say "Oh give him a chance"??

We're not the Priory clinic / shelter for waifs and strays. Get rid.

And Royston's lack of professionalism and maturity is appalling

Genuinely a bit  that Reading fans are backing Drenthe after what we've seen this season.

Running around like a mental for 15 mins after coming on as a sub does not = "putting in a shift"

Get fit and play something approaching 90mins every Saturday you waster.

Just sayin'

Thought he has sometimes looked decent when he's been allowed to play.

Bit of a run, bit of backing, perhaps things coulda worked out better.

Telling him to go f uck himself the minute he gets here; can't see Emilio Estivez using that speech for motivation in Mighty Ducks, fwiw.

If we're on top and need something a bit different, then fine, but other than his 30 second flashes of creativity it's like we're playing with 10 men.

The one exception in my mind was the Derby game. He was everywhere in that game including a comical 70 yard cross field dash to make a fairly routine tackle.

Really? I'm not in the least surprised that the bed-wetting fleece-wearing sycophants who make up our fanbase continue to be excited by Drenthe given his exotic sounding name and glamorous list of former employees. His lazy performances on the pitch mean nothing to those drones who queue up for hours outside the West Stand hoping to get their picture taken with Shaun Cummings.

Shaun was a former player of MK Dons, his popularity and stardom is no surprise.

Not sure about that, it seemed he could do no wrong for the first 10 games, people couldn't get enough of him.

I'm all for giving him another chance as he does have ability and things can change.
The heap of expectation at the start of the season has made his season seem even more disappointing.
Also the way people overrated his performances at the start of the season in matches just because of his real Madrid connection probably didn't help
