9 wins and a draw from the last 10 is a big ask now

Possible, but much less probable

Northampton now 85 points from 38 games, can still get 109 points. Their points are creeping up towards our record. Squeaky bum time?

Their run in is not the most difficult but they have struggled to beat some really poor teams on recent weeks. I don't think they'll beat Bristol Rovers and I also think Luton and Exeter are capable of takinge points off them. Then there's the small matter of a trip to Fratton Park on the final day.

Northampton drew so their maximum is down to 107.

They have to win all 7 remaining games to beat 106 and there is now no combination where they can equal the record, it's win all or bust.

Have to say I was willing Mansfield Town to hang on, despite me having zero interest in that club hitherto .

BOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I want them to do it. It was great for us but its time for someone else to experience that now.

id prefer it if they won the league on 105 points, and then spent a lot of time discussing how great a team the 05/06 RFC team must have been to get 106

Good news is that if they get 106 as well we retain the record. They currently have a goal difference of 32 compared to ours which ended as 67.
Actually quite an interesting comparison, that's a fairly big difference which suggests that we won our games rather more convincingly than they have been doing.

was my first year of regularly betting on Reading.
made a fortune, but this only gave me a baseless confidence that has lost a lot more money than I won in 05/06

Always best to be prepared though. If by some quirk they do, we have our backup plan in place
