What bothers me is why GMac is the only one coming out to apologise to the fans putting his hands up and accepting responsibility (fairplay to him)

I remember this was the case at Brentford and Fulham too no one really held their hands up and shouldered responsibility.

Some might say the players don't owe an explanation/apology but I strongly disagree given that the fans who give up their day go out of their way for the club, pay for their fuel/lunch/matchday ticket costs, sit three/four hours at a time in a coach/car sat through that and in some cases had their weekend ruined. (I didn't go to the game btw but judging from the highlights it brought back terrible memories of Fulham away)

Im sure I speak for most when I say I can accept losing and trying but losing and crumbling like that is another thing altogether. Bristol were beaten 5-0 in the season and the fans were refunded and despite our position I think it is only right that the player's accept responsibility and cover all those who travelled for that train wreck.

They are footballers earning thousands of pounds in a privileged position where they will never have to worry about affording luxuries in life. Some of our travelling faithful will have spent a large chunk of their months wages to see us humiliated and yet the players still get to walk away with their full wage packet for last week?!

No im not saying they should be winning every week at all but as far as professionals go, this was a Sunday League scoreline against a team that we should at least be competing against and finishing up with a credible scoreline win lose or draw.

Performance - Completely unprofessional performance by a group of "professional athletes" earning £££s a week who left fans that spend the majority of their hard earned money on their team feeling humiliated.

At the very least we should be competing and we didn't, how can the players take home their ridiculous weekly wage packet with a clear conscience (those that were involved)

First of all you have to respect Stam for believing in his way of playing football and not deviating from it
regardless of the consequences. Secondly I think Stam should apologise and not the players after all he has
to ensure the players understand what he wants and if he cant get that into there heads then he is at fault. The
Players in my opinion look scared of making mistake and cause of this tend to make more. Stam is not scared
to sub players if they don't perform as he expects so I am wondering whether this mindset hanging over the players
is effecting there play.

When Reading did Barnsley 7-0 back in 1979, it was rumoured that the then Barnsley manager, Alan Clarke, arranged for his players to have a day down a pit as a result.

Perhaps Jaap should arrange for the Reading "stars" to spend a day making biscuits while imagining working in Huntley and Palmers

I didn't say they should be winning every week, just not sure why they should have to pay us back. With your logic, a good performance should be worth paying more money.

If you go to the cinema and watch a shit film with terrible acting, do you expect the actors to reimburse your ticket cost?

That's the most northern thing I've heard for a long time. Love that. No doubt made real men of them.

I'm not sure that we can complain that much when we are 4th in the table when pretty much everyone thought top half would be a push, despite the odd terrible performance.
