Man Utd's streak of 58 consecutive FA cup matches broadcast live on television will come to and in January [...] ending a run stretching back 12 years since 2005

Brum Royal Don't the BBC have a record of not showing something like only 2 of Man Utd's last (insert large number) of FA Cup ties?
I'm sure that was a long running stat for a while
Edited to add: I've found an Independent article which says:Man Utd's streak of 58 consecutive FA cup matches broadcast live on television will come to and in January [...] ending a run stretching back 12 years since 2005
That article was from December 2017, so a few years ago, and not specifically BBC focused, but still proves my point.

Pepe the Horseman West Ham v Leeds and United v Villa are both being played again a week later. Only difference is the Cup game will probably feature much weakened line ups. Awful decision.

Unfortunately it is a by product of all Premier League games being on pay channels - as a result when the Cup comes round the free to air channels think that everyone would want to watch a "Premier League" game, when in reality those who want to see those type of games will either already have Sky/BT, go to the pub or be happy with MotD - unfortunately, as a result any tie that doesn't have a PL side in, doesn't stand a chance (unless there is a "big club" down on their luck and in the Champ) even though your average fan would find our tie more appealing due to the story behind it and the chance of a shock.
Very strange though that ITV have gone from showing an all non-league tie on Monday to ignoring those that are left.

Sadly you also have to factor in the fact that the armchair fans have been completely suckered into the idea that any game not involving premier league clubs is not worth watching.

RG30 Think international broadcasters also play a huge role in the decision making. They're hardly going to spend hundreds of millions in broadcasting fees with the view of showing Kidderminster Reading.
