Would have been nice to secure safety with a resounding victory but we did the job over the last half dozen games, hate losing but happy we got over the line.

windermereROYAL Major reconstruction needed for next season, but fukk me we are poor. don`t let the recent good run paper over the cracks, we`ve just gone to a side that have lost 12 at home are recently 6 on the bounce and got done by 3.
Lets relax in the knowledge we are safe and get the shit out of our club.

They did win their last game at home though and have been excellent away

We did the heavy lifting with the wins vs sheff utd, Stoke and Blackburn and the 4-4 on Monday

We’ve been ok since Ince came tbh. One shit result doesn’t change that

Those sort of posts like windi's are so daft.

That's exactly the sort of result that happens in the Championship all the time. Nothing to see here.

There's nothing to read into it beyond what we already knew. We're a not very good side that is improving and can play very well at times, but has off days regularly (though less so now) and when we do, and teams run at us, we concede a lot.

This isn't some revelatory result that all the hard work and progress we've made was an illusion or has just unraveled.

Hound Another in the loss column for ‘when Ejaria doesn’t start’. Big sample that now :)

Not a fan of TDB. Done some ok stuff early on but has been pretty underwhelming overall tbh. Need more than just be able to run around a lot

TDB is decent, but he's got to be used in the right way. He's got some pace, some trickery, fitness and a decent eye for goal. He's poor on the right or deep, but decent advanced or on the left.

Use a player right, you'll get work out of them, use them wrong, good chance you won't.

Wouldn't be against another season from him, but doubt we'll see him again next season, and I'm fine with that.

paultheroyal Dreadful performance but a decent day.

Marathon not a sprint. We were good as gone 15 games ago. Everything was from. We have another season of the championship to look forward too.

We’ve been consistently outside of the relegation zone though. Maybe we looked gone in terms of morale but not positioning

Just looked at the League table at our lowest point after we had lost for the eighth successive game at home to Coventry. We were two points clear of the relegation zone with Posh third from bottom with a game in hand. So it was looking very dodgy but that was as bad as it got.

Since then we have won 5, lost 5 and drawn 4. So solid mid table form.

He strikes me as a player who has no position.
He doesn't excel in any area but runs about a lot-not a failure with us but brought very little to our team IMHO and am not concerned if he is somewhere else next season.

He hasn’t been a disaster by any stretch

Just underwhelming as thought he had come with quite a promising reputation

I don’t think it helped TDB being played in a number of positions. I thought if him as a box to box player.

It's exactly the sort of result that has happened to Reading consistently over the last decade. Games against the likes of Yeovil, Burton, Wigan, Wycombe, Aston Villa ending their 400+ Day run without an away win against us. Those are just examples off the top of my head and there are many more of them.

There is a culture at this club. Nice club, nice atmosphere, with a nice team to play against. Are you a team on a poor run of form? Come to Reading. Near the bottom of the league? Come to Reading. Results like these "happen in the Championship" but they have happened far too often at Reading Football Club.

Whoever comes in as manager, whether it's Ince or someone else, need to change that. Let's use the team rebuilding opportunity to sign a couple of scrappy bastards.

Snowflake Royal Ejaria you outrageous cheat. That ball was nowhere near the quadrant for the corner. Twice.

Only doing what Hull were doing on that side in the first half - as highlighted by Jonny Saunders in his commentary.

Glad that season is over and we can at least enjoy it and not have to worry about the result.

Awful result yesterday. Thought we might get a draw. Guess the Swansea game too a lot out of the team.

I’d like to see some other players ie ones we are likely to keep next year play in next two games

Yep. Though just to point out Hull had won 3 of their previous 6 including their last home game. So they weren’t/aren’t a bad run at all

Completely agree re the culture of the club. I've always thought the same at home as well. I don't think we've had the worst home record in the division, but I know it's not really been great, Stam and last season aside (and I'm not too sure "how good" last seasons was for where we finished).

Precisely…a lot has been made of previous seasons being relegation battles, but in reality we weren’t in the bottom 3 much at all. This one has been closer. But have we actually been in the bottom 3 at any point?

Next season however…
