Ark Royal
South Coast Royal Peterborough are now the second best goal scorers in the division and second worst for goals conceded and not surprisingly are at half way in the table.
At their current rate they could get very near a 100 goal season but probably finish outside the top 6.

The only time we have been like this was the brief period under Jack Mansell when the attacking play was a delight to watch but defensively we were dire.

Correct. 69/70 season saw us score 87, but concede 77. 164 goals!

Certainly better than the 133 goals (48 v 85) that we got the following season.

Ferguson whinging that they were by far the superior side and didn`t deserve to lose, maybe somebody should point out the match stats to him.
Takes after his old man.

Another one who thinks possession is all that matters.

Once we went 2 up, we never looked in real danger for all their possession and fluffed chances.

Great game that, possibly our best performance this season. Definitely helped that they looked to play out from the back. Thought our pressing from Smith, Knibbs, Campbell and the midfield was exceptional. Savage and Campbell, in particular, really put in a shift. Elliott probably just edged my MotM, but everyone was great. Kudos to Kanu who did really well when he came on. 2-1 flattered them.

First-time visit to Peterborough. Strange place, pretty nondescript centre, tiny station and then you walk around the corner and there's a cracking looking cathedral. Nice to have a ground walkable from the centre. Proper wooden-seats and oxf*rd all leg room. Marvellous. Went to the Brewery Tap. Seemed to be the flagship bar for Oakham Ales. Got 4 different pints and they all looked the same. They definitely prefer a golden one. Good Thai lunch menu. Next onto The Ostrich. Absolute banger of a pub, had a lovely seasonal porter. Post-match went to the Blind Tiger. Craft beer place, decent selection, but as I was driving had a can of 0.5% Northern Monk Blind Faith or something. Not too shabby TBF.

They are looking move to an out of town ground :(

The cathedral is really impressive! But the town centre is dying on its arse (like so many town centres now)

Still buzzing from this result. One of the trickiest places to go in the league at a side who score a lot at home and we nullified them really well. Playing teams who come at us suits us better, we struggle against teams who sit back or play a direct and physical style of play.

Really horrible seats in the away end but looked like they had modern plastic seats everywhere else.

A week is a long time in HNA land , Lux.

I did see it as an opportunity to mention that short period of electrifying football under Mansell when we looked almost as good as Man Utd (Watney Cup).

The match stats were fairly even, but you have to take into account game state. The side that's 2-0 down is going to be the ones taking risks and likely to be the ones on the front foot.

They certainly had very good chances to score before they actually did, but we had chances to score a third.

What were the managers’ bookings for?

They were both around the same time but unrelated

Fergie-time junior though. If he'd got Fergie-time senior we may well have scored a third.

Selles got upset about something, I think a foul that wasn't given, and mouthed off at the 4th official. I believe Ferguson used the distraction to enter the field of play, but was spotted.

The ball went out of play during a Peterborough attack, just in front of Rubén. Lino didn't give it, so he went ballistic at the fourth official. Ferguson just walked onto the pitch to sort something out. Was bizarre how he thought he could get away with it.

Now you mention it..........!

I tried to load a photo of a Reading trolleybus to prove it, but failed. Pity we won't be able to use Smiths of Reading coach colours next season.

Like these, extra points if you travelled on either :D

Trolleybuses disappeared from the streets of Reading in 1967 I think.

Remember the poles coming off regularly and missing a Dr Who because of the delay outside Wellsteeds...

Also don't start me off on the Dennis Loline, Bristol VRs and AEC Regent IIIs reminiscences...

Or a "your longest bus ticket" competition.... IYKYK ;)
