2 world wars, 1 world cup Totally Madejski's fault.

EVen if we're to believe the spin that money was available, the wage structure is what did it for us and that lies in Madejski's hands.

It was why Sidwell went (when Coppell was desperate for him to stay) and that's probably THE biggest reason we were a different side. And it's the reason we couldn't get anyone decent in.

99% Madejski, perhaps 1% Coppell for not really stamping his feet and demanding a more realistic wage structure.

This is so easy it shocks me that so many people can't see it.
Sidwell would have left Villa or Everton for Chelsea. he was never going to stay even if we matched the wages, which would have been insanity.

Many people see that the wages we pay prevents us from getting the best players; many people also see that the wage structure represents where this club is in its development and paying beyond our means could be disastrous.

Agreed - it's totally about the wage structure, nothing more to be said

you are saying its madejskis "fault"

or is he just a realistic business man who knows the best way to keep his business running, and keep this club together and viable
for a club with probably a hard core support of 10,000 (maybe more now)
a ground with 24k capacity
its just not viable to start throwing 30-40kPW around your players
even in the prem, now we are in the championship its even less viable

people go on about football not running like normal business but it should, and we do, and im glad it is so.

If the money wasn't there Coppell wouldn't be saying he could have signed player if he had wanted.

Some people just refuse to accept that Coppell got it wrong.

There Chairman ain't perfect, but it wasn't him saying we'll be ok with what we have.

How many times does Coppell need to say it?
