Deathy
brendywendy Jesus people, calm down. Steve stone was two yards out of an open goal, kebe was on the edge of a defended area with keeper to beat. Still shit, but lets not go mental! As for our slump being inevitable to go to the end of the season, lol, its 50-50 at most! ;-)

Wasn't he on the penalty spot...ish?

yes. gaping wide open goal. i remember it very well. can you imagine it? we scored three whole goals in just one game! it's not like those old days anymore.

Royal Rother How could any true Reading FC supporter see games in hand as a cause for a modicum of positivity?

Use some common sense. We are on a poor run and it is absolutely bound to stay that way until the end of the season. Everyone knows that.

And I bet Steve Coppell is in raptures at having games in hand rather than points in the bag - Not!

the major difference being Steve Stone was a decent footballer who had an absolute 'moment' a shocking miss that no one could see coming, Kebe? I doubt many were all that surprised that he failed to score.

Coppell is changing around personell in his squad trying to find the answer, to me it's more simple than he's making out. Reading are a team completely built on wingplay and set pieces and when the two wingers are so hopelessly out of form it's no surprise the goals have completely dried up. I have never understood Coppell's loyalty to Stephen Hunt, a player who really is unbelievably average. His one saving grace all season has been his set piece delivery because his crossing from open play is awful, now the set pieces have gone down the pan, Hunt offers absolutely nothing from an attacking sense.

Kebe is just Kebe. Quick but that is it. Little skill or ability, absolutely no end product, worse in the air than the big bopper, buddy holly and ritchie valens and woeful finishing.

Little and Convey, in THAT season Little for me was the best player in the whole league, his delivery was sensational and strikers knew that when Little had the ball, they knew when and where he would cross the ball. With Kebe he doesn't know so they've got no chance. Convey in that season, was skilfull, pacey, direct and his delivery was consistently decent. This is the area where we are so much weaker. Now we have 2 extremely inconsistant wingers who more importantly just lack the quality of the two previous occupants of the wide areas.

That was sarcastic scorn directed at Royal Blue. (I agree with you!)
